When the Enzo video came out I thought he’d be perfect for Chel … sorry a little bile came into my mouth … that team next to Fulham! If they cut ties with Envo to keep their squad from revolting as a high amount of French players Mate don’t get the hate for Chelsea, we had links on off for donkeys

We literally have more beef with Luton Oxford and I’d even say Cardiff than Chelsea

We literally have more beef with Luton Oxford and I’d even say Cardiff than Chelsea Clearly we all have different experiences of club rivalry over the years. I remember what Chelsea fans were like in the 70s and they were a horrible bunch, which cemented my dislike, shall we say, of that club. And certainly in the 80s and 90s, the QPR rivalry with Chelsea was epitomised by our chants: Stick the Blue flag up your arse, for example. We have never had a song like that for any other club, apart from Cardiff, following their shenanigans before the 2003 play-off final.
At the same time, there have been rivalries with Brentford (although that seems to be more Brentford towards Rangers than the other way around), and Luton, as you say. But for me, Chelsea have always been the predominant bete noire.

In my head, due to our "history" on the international scene, Ajax are our biggest rivals. Nothing more, nothing less.

I think there are 2 different types of rivalries. Those that that you feel on the terraces and you sing about, and those that the boys that like a scrap are aware of. I think that's the fundamental difference betwen our rivalry with Chelsea, Brentford, Fulham etc., and the rivalry we have with Luton.

Way back early mid 70s things were definitely on the tasty side vs Chelsea. Might have been because back then we were real world competitors with them.
WHU were bothersome back then for similar reasons. Later on, when we were shit again, things were different and by the mid 80s firms teaming up was more of a thing.

WHU are probably a team which refined the QPR way of playing. Perhaps how to run a similar club would be more precise.

Off the park they were always trouble As you say we had a lot in common with them - playing style, plus the Boleyn (aka Upton Park) was similar to LR etc, generational family type old skool clubs. What they didn't have was Fulham and Chelsea on their doorstep: Orient and Wall simply didn't count. So WHU had a broader constituency which helped them cement a larger following than ours (although still not massive).

Chelsea are my main rivals, but I am 34 and my bro (who took me to QPR) is 46 so he taught me the hatred.
Now, I imagine the younger generation probably see Fulham and/or Brentford as main rivals? My nephews do and they are 10 (ish).
I think in the stadium, the atmosphere would be most toxic vs Chelsea. Younger fans will want to beat them and older fans have a lot of history towards it.

I’m 55 and it was just the barmies that hated Chelsea, yes we had scraps but on the whole a lot of us were quite close, same with Arsenal to an extent. Luton we never got on with, Oxford was mad before t we ever played them Wembley, Norwich, Southampton . Never cared about Brentford as they nothing and Fulham had a few but again not really on our list.

I'm 42 and our rivalries have been different across the decades I think. Chelsea was always the big one when I first started going (although we always seemed to sign players from Chelsea so I never really got it). Then Fulham when the money came in there and they started overtaking us.
Brentford were always the ones down the road we felt a bit sorry for I think. They always seemed to hate us a lot more than we hated them. It's actually quite sad that we've ended up the bottom of the pile out of the 4 local clubs.

As me, and all my family who are ST and various ages, have zero hated to Oxford. Not overly fussed by Cardiff other than our promotion chasing time. Yeah, Luton is a rivalry. Palace, maybe 20 years ago but not so much now. Just a London derby rather than a rival.

I remember trouble vs Chelsea Luton and WHU. That's stuff I witnessed / got caught up in. I knew about Oxford from back in the day, never really understood that one, never saw trouble with them at LR.
Never saw scrapping with Arsenal, not saying it didn't happen but never saw it. Way back Leeds and MU were busy on the road but that was wherever they happened to be. MU deffo got involved a couple of times down the bush.
For context, I'm older than Leighs, maybe even older than the silver fox (Al)

we all feel that pain particularly tuff for the old boys because we actually witnessed the glory days, hard for us to accept some of the dross served up since, but these things happen. We go on.

Had a mate (THFC) always claimed they were a lot more lively than Arsenal back then.
