First opportunity to really comment on yesterday. Kind of game which leaves emotions scrambled as was high as a kite first half but on edge of my seat, for wrong reasons, second.
Left game with disappointed feeling, if that makes sense, but I had no right to feel like that after a win so it’s all very odd
Pluses are Wells looks clinical this season and him and Hughill are good pairing. Feel if one dont score the other will. Wells could have had hat trick so could have Eze. On Eze the guy has taken himself to another level and added work rate to his game (it proves he was lazy last season but kudos to him for sorting it out). There was break first half from them when he was man who got back and nicked ball before they put ball in the box. Chair I love watching this chap just need him start opening teams up with his feet. Him and Eze in same side is dreamy, the stuff wet dreams are made of!!!!!!
Where can we improve?? Well we got stop the self harming we seem to do each match, as against proper good side we can’t give pens and goals away as we won’t get back in it. Lumley has been at fault for few goals this season so I think it is fair questions are asked of if he retains his place!! For me for now, aslong as he’s learning from errors, I give him bit longer but he needs to be aware he cuts the mistakes out or someone else gets a chance
Saw good and bad of Kane, was real threat first half going forwards but second, when backs were against the wall and you want calmness and composure he tried tricks in tight areas, got caught, lost ball and they attacked us. Like Lumley he’s learning on the job so more patients needed
I’ve said this before but we need have a better final ball into the box. Manning, Chair, Kane and Wells got to the byline or crossing position, but too often don’t pick out a man. If we sort this out and cut out the mistakes at the back we’re in business this season
We had Cameron and Amos on bench who would strengthen first team if started so were in good shape.
Must say I like Ball think he does what’s asked of him, wins it gives it to Eze, plus he actually seems to have decent range of passing on him. Few groans around me when he’s on ball but stick by him guys, not everyone can be a chair or Eze you also need someone to shovel the coal or the engine stops

Just watching highlights on Sky. Two great recovery challenges from Barbet for what would have been goals
What is Manning doing for their second. He’s improved over course of season but still weak link for me in this team, has questionable positional sense and always switches off. Loads of goals conceded come down the left

Loads of goals conceded come down the left I'd actually say yesterday was Barbet's best game so far in a QPR shirt. Made 1 tackle yesterday in the area that saved an almost certain goal. As for Manning, absolutely shocking positional play for their 2nd goal. But he isn't a natural defender, is he?

He's not, no, which is why I'm more inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt unless he's made a Lumley-esque clanger. He's only deputizing anyway as far as I understand, til Wallace is fit.

Ball is a surprise for me aswell, Nothing spectacular about what he is doing, but maybe a bit like Holloway in his "prime",..much of his work goes unnoticed.

I didn't have time to post a MOTM poll, but for me Barbet would have got it. Had a great game and so much better in a 3.

I've absolutely slaughtered Barbet but barring a rash tackle near the end I thought he was superb on Saturday.

I didn't really like Barbet so far but credit where it is due, he was our best defender on Saturday and that shot from the corner would have been a fitting cherry on the cake for him if it had gone in. Eze was comfortably the MOTM on Saturday IMO.

First half he got out ran, thought he was quicker then that No, a Bees fan on Clive's site posted about how slow he was and it was one of the reasons they never renewed his contract. When you are building a side on less than £100k he is going to be about as good as it gets I'm afraid.

Looking back on this.
I just don't think we defend well enough to play out 100% of the time. For all the good things he's done, the reason we are unable to keep clean sheets is down to poor defensive coaching. Been going on about this for years, personnel change but we're still iffy back there. Luckily we're scoring more the days, but that wont help us vs quality.
You can't coach an Adel like touch but you can coach out defensive errors. If you insist on playing out irrespective, and you don't coach them properly than the errors are down to the gaffer. He selects on and off the park. So who is defence coach and when is he getting his fucking finger out of his arse?

There is no dedicated defensive coach as such – the responsibility is shared between Warburton, Eustace, Banfield and Gardiner.

He should be taking over the defence coach duties!

No matter what Stan replied, you would have said something disparaging, you always do. Highest scoring team, two of the leading goalscorers in the side and you can't find any joy in the side?

Do the other top championship sides have dedicated defence coaches? Genuine question.

I wish we had WBA's defence coaches! Then we would be top of the League tomorrow. I wish we had Kyle Bartley & Semi Ajayi, they were immense both in the air, and on the deck today. First defence to stop us from getting a shot on target in.

Highest scoring team, two of the leading goalscorers in the side and you can't find any joy in the side? We're talking about the arse end here mate, not the goalscorers. We leak goals. Joy will be short lived if we can't defend properly, because quality will find us out (as I said before today). You know the truth of this. Back when Arsenal could defend - the invincibles - no one was quite sure how they managed it, because individually at the back they weren't the greastest footballers. They did it day after day in training by going through the drills and so they could do them in their sleep. They knew the calls backwards. They did the grunt work. You can coach a defence to minimise errors. We're as poor at the back as we were under Smac and Ollie. The last time I saw an R's back line command a fixture from the back vs decent opposition was Wembley. That's a long time ago. A quality side will always fancy themselves against us. I want them to hate it.
