According to a report from The Sun (22nd September, page 61, paper edition), Championship side Queens Park Rangers have taken a liking to UD Almeria striker Sekou Gassama, who has enjoyed a successful start to the new season.
It has been claimed by The Sun that Queens Park Rangers are taking a look at Senegalese striker Sekou Gassama, who has started the new season in impressive fashion. Gassama, 24, has scored five goals in seven games for the Spanish Segunda Division outfit, providing one assist as well. His goals have helped UD Almeria climb to the top of the table after seven matches.
The Championship side are said to be preparing a move for Gassama already and they could have the chance to bring him in on the cheap in January. The former Senegalese youth international’s contract with the Spanish side expires at the end of the current season, meaning he could be available at a cut-price in the January transfer window.
So far in his career, Gassama has been bouncing around youth sides and the lower divisions of Spanish football before making a move to current side UD Almeria in the summer of 2017. Since joining the club, Gassama has played 22 times and scored eight goals, laying on one assist in the process.
He spent the second half of last season on loan with Valencia’s B-team, where he netted three times in eight appearances before returning to UD Almeria earlier this summer.
