We allowed 1 of their 2 best players acres of space and time just outside our area. He delivers a good ball and rest is history. Who was that then ? It wasn't Ejaria or Yiadom. Swift

That would all depend on what they have been told are the objectives for this and coming seasons. As mentioned before, I think Amit has another plan in lace to get QPR stable and achieving success. If the players are buying into it then they will know that this season is a step on that path. Sending players out like Alfa and Kefalas show some forward vision beyond this season and Kefalas is the right sort of tall, ball playing centre back we are hoping we can sign. Eze and Manning both seem happy with how things are going for them personally and must be also happy with how well the team are performing. Reading some of the comments from last night, one could be forgiven for thinking we had just been on the end of another defeat in a six match losing streak. Is watching QPR such a binary, knee jerk hobby?

It’s people sharing views esox, observations, opinions, offering alternatives of how to improve us I really don’t get why you always do against it unless it’s people toeing party line

I've gotta be honest Westy, I think there have been few over reactions from last night. Yes, our defence is poor and could be significantly improved. But in the grand scheme of things it's not the end of the world. We are sat in 4th place and playing some great attacking football. A collective deep breath is required!

It’s people sharing views esox, observations, opinions, offering alternatives of how to improve us I really don’t get why you always go against it unless it’s people toeing party line There isn't a party line AFAIK and those things I emboldened are what healthy debate is all about. Comments like (n) is fucking shit etc. are none of those, and that is what rankles. There are plenty of examples of my replies to others who are sharing views, observations etc. where I am in full agreement and support of those things. These players that others are coating off are almost to a man players that have been rejected by other clubs, progressed through academy teams in recent years or some who are just all we are able to afford. Expectations are far too high for such a group which has only just been assembled. Apologies if I come over as hostile but I treat harsh and undue criticism of QPR from anyone as if it were opposing fans doing it. Those that know me IRL will tell you that it isn't a keyboard warrior stance; I defend QPR at all times from what I believe to be undue criticism.

...watching your team is obviously highly emotive too. So people are bound to get a little carried away in the heat of the moment, especially live on a match thread. You always need to allow latitude for that. Reading it back in the cold light of the following day it'll always appear differently, but the underlying critique expressed I believe was still reasonable under the circs.

I don't think it's an overreaction at all to be frustrated that, had we not made stupid errors at the back, yet again, it would've been 3pts and not 1. If it had been a one off then fine, but its every bloody game. It's something that has to stop because we can't keep up needing to score at least 2 goals every game to get a win.

But it is happening every game mate. What is also happening most games is we score 1 more than we concede. Not ideal, I'd rather be keeping clean sheets and winning 2-0 most games, but its never that simple. All I'm saying is we're 4th and attacking very well. Enjoy it, things have been much worse!

I respectfully disagree with you Esox! :-) Firstly I never made any of those predictions you refer to, and secondly there's just no getting away from the fact that our defending should have been better last night - hence it should have been 3pts not 1. Yeah I get your arguments about lack of quality in defence etc but the fact is Warbs would disagree with you too. He knows full well that our defenders are capable of doing a better job than they are currently, and he knows he can get more out of them. Since Amit became chairman the club has the feeling once more of having a plan to progress Its really simple and you don't get it, becuase the problem is not down to quality of defender, its down to a lack of basic suss and coherence at the back. The same mistakes are in evidence time and again. No one goes anywhere in football if basic defending isn't being coached. If Amit has a plan, top of the list should be to sort this out.

Don't get me wrong, where we are in the league blows my mind, and I'm enjoying seeing us score a lot of goals so far. But we won't keep that up, there will be a patch where we find goals hard to come by, so for this eventuality the defence needs to be sorted, because if it isn't we will see us slide down the table again.

We have played 7 of the bottom 9 and not kept a single clean sheet so it confirms that it is more than just the goalkeeper. Watch the 2nd goal from last night again and not one of the back line covered themself in glory

Keeper piss poor with their first. Came out too quickly, stopped, and failed to get down. BFG done for pace. But he can't help that. Second Manning poor again. How hard is it to play that angle off the CB? He's brilliant in every other way at LB.

For me major part of defensive issues as get opened up on left all the time. Not his fault as not LB. I would stick Wallace in now and move him forwards, let him focus on what he’s actually good at

i bumped into luke amos today randomly at one of my sites. he didn't know what went wrong with reading last night and knows we should have done better.
really nice guy though who loves talking about football, he sounds like he's genuinely loving his time at qpr so far but is dissapointed that he got injured as its kept him out of the side. he said theres a great winning mentality in the dressing room and also hopes that he'll be starting on monday
