Our place in the league stuns me Jimmy when you consider our season long defensive fragility How long can we hang in top 6 shipping goals. And if we had hung on we would be sat second. Shit league. Wide open. Maybe so but 9 new signings in a newly built team and spending 50k indicates a cracking effort all round.

Wba, Swansea, Leeds have looked good but are not way out in front and if we can be up there with our defensive record it is wide open. Everyone is looking for consistency at the moment.

I hope it don’t happen but if we keep conceding we will drop away. This is what happened in Ramsey season loads of goals scored but also conceded but we were top six. When goals scored dried up we fell away
Yes it exciting to watch, but at no point should we be complacent and think because we’re winning the defensive issue can wait. As said this league is weak, so imagine where we could be with our attacking game and solid at the back!!!!!!
There is huge unexpected opportunity here let’s grasp it with both hands instead of one

And for the first time we have a manager who shares my own initials, so that's an added lucky omen as far as I'm concerned 😊

The reason why I want us to improve defensively is the fact that Wells & Co at some stage might pick up an injury or two.

We’re averaging more or less two goals conceded a game. With games left continuing at that rate we will need 66 goals just to draw every game
It’s not sustainable we need address defensive issue

Couple of points on the defensive situation.
1.) Our best defender has been unavailable for close to half the games played so far. Hopefully Grant Hall returns to good health and helps shore things up.
2.) The transfer window is now less than 12 weeks away. I'd be amazed if we don't try and pick up a centre half.
Yes, we need to improve upon the basics at the back. But I can't see Warburton changing his philosophy of playing out from the back. I'd prefer it if our defenders would just put their foot through it at times, but if Warburton was gonna address this it would have happened already.
In my opinion we have to just take it for what it is. This manager has our side attacking as well as I can remember in many a year. Yes, defensively we are pretty poor, but it's still a huge improvement on the whole from some of the shite we've endured in the last 4 or 5 seasons. It's also very early days in Warburton's tenure. Can't expect everything to be perfect from day 1.

I'd rather be shipping goals and in 4th place than defensively sound in 14th!

The problem is not playing out from back Tarbs it’s basic defending so that’s a red herring. Been shipping goals with Hall too I don’t think things will drastically change with his return

There is no getting away from it our defending has been a problem for a few seasons now. 70 goals shipped in each of the previous 2 seasons? Heading for the same this season.
We are a much stronger attacking force and much more competitive in midfield this season and that has led to a great first quarter. We are also playing entertaining skillful football and mostly getting a good result.
Given recent past dross and seeing us as a work in progress we have a lot to be pleased about now and hopefully lots to look forward to down the road.

Everyone is happy we have moved forward, no doubt about that, but we can all see an opportunity - the club too I'm sure - that we never expected. That's all the debate is about. We are better than we could have hoped and the league is poor up to now. We can't expect the strikers to always score an extra goal. All teams need an ugly 1-0 occasionally.

Can only say everything that could conspire against us pretty much did. Firstly we were not at the races at all. Not one player had a good game. All 5/10 Ref was absolutely abysmal. Worst I've seen in a while. How he missed that handball first half was a joke then a player that lanky American cunt number 5 clearly elbows Hughill (he'd already slung the arm at Rangel first half) then throws him to the ground yet gets a yellow and worse still so does Hughill. Embarrassing. Substitutions for me didn't work. Taking Wells off to shore up the midfield would be ok if we could defend but we can't. Once they scored again we were short up front. The 3 lads who came on didn't effect the game at all. Not one iota. Just not at the races but 4th in the league which is amazing but actually came home frustrated and deflated. Lets just beat these pikeys from Hounslow on Monday to make up for it. You've been tagged on HIGNFY tonight
