Can only say everything that could conspire against us pretty much did.
Firstly we were not at the races at all. Not one player had a good game. All 5/10
Ref was absolutely abysmal. Worst I've seen in a while. How he missed that handball first half was a joke then a player that lanky American cunt number 5 clearly elbows Hughill (he'd already slung the arm at Rangel first half) then throws him to the ground yet gets a yellow and worse still so does Hughill. Embarrassing.
Substitutions for me didn't work. Taking Wells off to shore up the midfield would be ok if we could defend but we can't. Once they scored again we were short up front.
The 3 lads who came on didn't effect the game at all. Not one iota.
Just not at the races but 4th in the league which is amazing but actually came home frustrated and deflated.
Lets just beat these pikeys from Hounslow on Monday to make up for it.

Hard to disagree with any of that. We were sloppy with our passing, for the first time I think MW got the subs wrong and as always 'its just another shit ref'

Our place in the league stuns me Jimmy when you consider our season long defensive fragility
How long can we hang in top 6 shipping goals. And if we had hung on we would be sat second.

Said to my mate last night we're averaging 3.8 goals a game at home, 20 odd goals between Hughill, Wells & Eze yet our GD is 0 Thats shocking and we won't keep scoring as many over a season as we're bound to get injuries & teams will smother our goal scorers over a season. Defence is worrying and although Kelly made some decent stops I don't see him as any step up from Lumley tbh.

Show's the quality of the league this year when we can defend the way we have done, and still be genuine promotion contenders.

accurate post. i have no idea why we were set up so badly in the 2nd half but no one seemed to be making runs or looking for passes and we kept hoofing it. bringing off nahki and rangel was a mistake too imo. kane is like the conor washington of right backs.
reading played well so credit to them there but you get the feeling that if we played as we did at hull or blackburn that we would have won the game

Watching him standing in that goal is like watching a shorthanded midget trying to fill out the chasm in mrs. Radfords private parts

WBA - definitely but they nearly lost at home to a team in the relegation zone. Swansea - looked good but they have fallen away a bit. Leeds - yes they look capable of scoring a lot of goals but are in danger of becoming the new Derby if they bottle it again. After that you are scratching around a bit so no reason we can't stay around where we are and challenge for play offs this season. I can't believe I am saying that but as Tarbs says look at the quality of the league.

Our place in the league stuns me A reflection on its overall standard. Plus the fact that most of our wins have been by the odd goal; and our tendency to either win or lose games.

Thought Reading looked organised and a draw was a fair result. Am absolutely convinced though that had we been on our game and tested their keeper more then we would have won that.
Got to say that Ejaria looked a player. That ball for their first goal was quality.

Got to say that Ejaria looked a player. That ball for their first goal was quality. I thought he and Yiadom were by far the best players on the pitch last night. IMO Warburton made a mistake in dropping BOS for Hugill as I believe BOS would have kept Yiadom pinned back further in his own half compared to Eze being wasted out on the wing and unable to effectively deal with Yiadom when required.

We literally have to score a minimum of 2 goals a game to achieve wins.
That can't go on.

Hall is never fit but why are we not giving Masterson a go?
Highly rated, young, agile and hungry. Why did we buy him?
Something needs to change or we will soon get punished once injuries kick in up front.

Something needs to change or we will soon get punished once injuries kick in up front. Two things here rabbit; I was told last night that Hall is fully fit but is suffering from mental health issues. This was covered in an interview he did whilst injured a while back but it would appear that the demons are back. I know the club will be doing everything they can to get him through this and I wish him well in his recovery. Secondly, If I remember correctly, Masterson was signed a an U23 player. This would have been done to avoid him being included in any FFP calculations but would also mean he isn't eligible to play for the first team yet. "The fourth Thursday in March is the traditional ‘transfer deadline day’ and remains in place to ensure Clubs cannot add to their squad for the final remaining fixtures of a Season thus impacting on the integrity of the competition in those final stages. This deadline is also used in other contexts – see for example the requirements on full strength sides in Regulation 24.1. Academy Players will not be caught by this restriction in respect of non-first team matches. However, Clubs will not be permitted to register an Academy Player after this date and then utilise him in League Matches."

If that is the case, the club should update their website and take him out of the first team player profiles before that transfer gets questioned....

Agree with most of comments. We’re 4th.....well before tonight’s games so having a fantastic season so far. And that’s not an exaggeration given expectations and our budget. To go through some of the players
Kelly vs Lumley - I think Kelly gets some harsh stick. Got to give him a few games. Lumley was in goal for a while and made quite a few basic errors. Got to give Kelly 10 league games to get settled.
Defence - I don’t think Barbet or Toni are that bad at the back. Not world beaters but do a good job for us. I again think we should stick with them.
Cameron - for me he’s a utility squad player this season. Our best formation seems to be 3 at that back and for me, I’d want Hall or maybe a fit Rangel as 1 of the 3 instead of Cameron. I’d rate Cameron on a par with Scowen for the defensive midfield position but Ball is the best player for that role.
Manning - got to look at positives with him. Yesterday was not his best but he’s been great this season.
Kane - think is confidence is shot from playing against that West Brom left back (Ferguson??) - Ferguson is immense player and should be in Prem. Got to get this guy back on form.....for me it’s just confidence. Over to you Mark.
Ball - has to start for me. In my view our best centre mid.
Amos and Smith - not seen enough to comment but got faith in Warburton that if they’re good enough they should play.
Chair - for me he needs to be used from the bench. I am in a minority but doesn’t quite do enough for me.
Pugh - expected a lot but delivered little. Should be in 1st team but his form has not been good enough
Eze - top class. Nothing else to say. Enjoy him while we can.
BOS - impact sub at home games and starter away from home. His pace on break is difference away from home.
Hugill and Wells - keep them fit and rotate because 2 of our best played and get us goals......what a nice change from recent strikers we’ve had
Team for me is Kelly Rangel, Toni, Barbet Kane, Ball, Amos/Scowen/Pugh, Manning Eze Hugill, Wells

Agree BOS should have kept place and Chair should have dropped to bench. If we’re honest, despite the excitement, Chair has done nothing since being regular. Has the talent, but similar to Eze but without the end product. He’s going to be a player but think he would benefit from playing off the bench for a bit BOS brings pace, he’s not finished article either, but he influences games as you say by pinning FB back as they know he will get behind them

For a bit of context a few of the form/fancied sides are having poor runs of form at the moment. Forest, Swansea and Bristol are on bad mini runs. We need to expect a couple of those ourselves as the season progresses. All in all we are in great shape. A win v. Hounslow Aspirants on Monday and all will be well again!

Some great points lads and don't get it twisted, I'm absolutely DELIGHTED at how things are going.
Really hope Hall if true what's being said gets the help and support he needs. Very sad to hear and I hope the lad gets out of what can only be a terrible situation.
Masterson I'm sure has been on the bench so for me is eligible to play.
