We just do not have the players to compete consistently at this level. Even Brentford can do it, Hull, Norwich even have spent f-all. This Austerity is killing us, we must've got all the high wages off the books by now. We're gonna lose Freezy in the summer, it can't go on Les. I'm getting mightily p*ssed off, with this cheap and cheerful way. Rather if this is how it's gonna be for our once proud club, just sink away to the conference and disappear than put up with this sh&t If we can't compete whats the point?

Overall this season has been quite ok, but today´s performance was the worst since we lost 2-0 against Everton about 5 seasons ago. Embarrassing and pathetic.

Ain't Les' fault (although there are plenty of other criticisms you could aim in his direction). FFP has us over a barrel, and it will be worse next season as this is the final year of our parachute payments. Also, we haven't got rid of all the high earners either. From what I've heard there are a handful of players earning between 15 and 20k a week, and we won't be able to afford to keep them all in the summer.
I suspect this is why we sent so many out on loan the second half of the season. We need them to get some games under their belt cos we will need them in the first team next season!

They have good home record. That's seven in a row they have now won. We beat them at our place, there's only a few points between us. Seems a bit of an overreaction.

So my point is why bother? This is an unjust "tax" for want of a better description against my club. We are being told we are lge 1 at best, so lets just get on with it. Football lge tables these days are decided round a board room table at the FL. Pointless any club trying ....they only allow Leeds Villa etc be at the top, the rest are fodder

We are working under restrictions imposed on us by the Football League for wrong doings that happened before Les was at the club. Why is he the target of your anger? If you wanna be angry at anyone at the club it should be Fernandes. Personally, I think it's a far better idea to simply accept the situation and move forward. Yeah, I'm far from happy at getting turned over like that by Brentford and I hope a few players out there yesterday are going to kop a serious billocking on Monday morning. But at least we are clear of trouble. Next season may also be a different playing field with lots of other clubs flirting with FFP sanctions too!

Problem seems to be that we never know who is going to turn up. Freeman and Luongo dominant against Leeds, dreadful yesterday. Freeman never found a team mate with a free kick or corner all afternoon and was back to the bad old ways of getting caught on the ball. Luongo had the touch of an elephant and looked out on his feet after 30. Hall and Leistner have looked like a decent pairing but Hall looked well shaky at times and it needed Leistner and Cousins working hard to keep us in it at all. Shots from Bidwell and Luongo were embarrassing for a pro. I hate to think it but it looks to me that we have earmarked a couple of winable games and we'll just see how it goes in the others. I still don't buy this idea that fit young blokes can't play two games a week without getting knackered.

But this month they have played double the games of the teams they have faced. Young/fit or not if you do double the work of who your facing there going be fresher then you
Is that not a fair assumption Al?

Young/fit or not if you do double the work of who your facing there going be fresher then you Is that not a fair assumption Al? Yes mate, to a point but the one thing I thought really would improve under SMC would be our fitness levels, and that doesn't appear to have happened. Top teams are as dynamic in the last ten minutes as they are at kick off. Top, top teams play more games and their players don't even get international breaks off. Ok, they have squads but there are many players who play most games - to name two...Ashley Young and Harry Kane. Young is getting old and has the most demanding role of wing back, Kane gets picked every game when fit yet both always deliver for the whole 90 minutes. It could well be that to get to the very top you have to have a naturally superior fitness level as well as superior talent so let's just look at our contemporaries. How many times this season has it looked like we are playing against 14 because of the superior pace and movement of opponents? When we are counter attacked how often have we been shouting for players to get back in our half when they are struggling to jog back? It's no coincidence that the last 15 have become known as squeaky bum time, or that bloke that sits next to me always saying we need to be three up to get a point. Daft, but you get his point. We hear about fitness regimes and diets and recovery programmes but I bet Venables' team and even the 76 side would give our current lot a run fitness wise.

You hit nail on head, top teams!!! We’re not a top team we’re bang average middle of the table championship club
Yes I think we should be fitter generally but I don’t think your giving any benefit of the doubt for the volume of games we’ve played in comparison to others were now facing. Again 8 games in a month it’s like we have had three festive periods in two months since December
Top athletes like you mention cost top dollar. We don’t have top dollar so people need get used to fact we will get what we pay for ie mass technically very good player but no pace and no 90min engine
It is what it is

Did make the point that we are not a top team mate, that's why I compared us to opponents this season. I think we are well short fitness wise and that's a big reason why we struggle. Leeds murdered WBA on the Friday after our game with them yet we couldn't raise a gallop a day later against a mid-table side.
