How do you think they would get on
There is always talk about them joining prem but I think if they were in this league they would not walk it or go up as it’s stronger then the SPL and they would get a proper game each week
Anyone think they would steam roll this league

Celtic might get promoted quickly but it would be difficult and certainly not a guarantee. I could see Rangers taking 5 years plus to find their feet at championship level

I think championship is comfortably higher standard then SPL willo
I don’t think Scottish clubs should join our league and I would toss out welsh ones too but would not be against a UK cup competition that could be fun

Ireland up until 1984 when it was abolished after 100 years.

I think he's referring to the UK national teams Wests. Home international championships I think they called it.

Celtic would walk the Championship. Rangers would be a top six side.
Neither should join our leagues though.

Celtic have averaged around 85 points last few seasons in what we all agree is a much poorer league. Not sure they’d walk the championship but imagine they’d be top 6 or thereabouts.

They wouldn't join anyway as they'd miss out on their handful of games in Europe.

I think it really depends on whether you are asking about the long term or the short term Westy.
From a short term point of view, I think with the current squads and Managers they are both probably around mid-table Championship sides. It's also worth pointing out that Rangers in particular are not a well organised club at board level. They seem to always overspend and be fighting to stave off issues as a result of it, and there is always a lot of politics and power struggles in the board room there.
In the long run though, you'd have to suspect these 2 sides would prevail. In terms of global fan base, merchandising, attendances these are absolutely huge sides. Just to give you an idea of what I mean, when I was in Dubai QPR and Rangers' supporters clubs shared a bar. They would get 300 out for a big match. That by far eclipsed the turnouts of any other supporters club in Dubai.
These are 2 incredibly well supported, monsters of football clubs that are only really being held back because they are in a really low calibre league. Give them English TV revenues they wouldn't be hanging around at Championship level for long in my opinion!

Think both would do well as money talks and they'd pay big wages

celtic would be midtable in the prem imo whilst rangers would be a playoff team. that being said i reckon either one or both of them would eventually be challenging for the top 6 in the prem for sure.
they're both massive clubs with good stadiums and a rich history and with the revenue and tv exposure of the prem they'd be able to attract quality players

Perhaps we could get PSG or Ajax in to spice things up, and Glentoran for balance.

Although I get all the objections, it would be cool to have them in the league I think. Although there's no way they'd want to go into the Championship! They'd expect to waltz into the prem.
How would they do in the Champ? Celtic would probably be top 2, Rangers top 10.

The sectarianism surrounding those two is like flies around dung and it poisons football. Their fans don't know how to behave either and are a logistical nightmare. We're better off leaving them where they are. Agree mate, and I come from a family of Rangers fans. Some of the stuff you hear on the terraces at Ibrox is straight from the Dark Ages!

I don't think you've got too much to worry about SW. I can't see either side ever being allowed near the English league until the sectarian stuff gets cleaned up. Why would the Football League want to risk the potential negatives?
And I don't see anything happening at any point soon that will improve the bigotry in Glaswegian football. Even the young fans coming through are very happy to get involved.
