I’ve been thinking about deleting my account for ages. Comments about my age and sexual performance leave me in tears sometime, I can’t sleep at night. And that’s without Westy pointing out I’m wrong about everything. I can’t take anymore. I didn’t come on here to be disagreed with all the time. Shut up you old fart 😁🍺 |

Well a few months back, I was warmly welcomed to this board by AlanWycombe and we established I was 2 years his senior, and even schooled together. But today, I can now see this board for what it really is, ageist and also a strong bullying culture (just like our school so home from home) and I am here to support poor Alan as I move around on my Zimmer frame, trying to last just one more day.
I would cancel my account as well, but of course at my age, I have no idea how to do that, we did not have technology in our day, so I will just have to continue on posting gibberish I guess...... now what was I saying? oh never mind.

Youngsters mock us folk in our 50s but we lived the better times.
We had acid raves, and no one really got murdered over drugs. Knife crime was rare. Work on whole Wes east to get. You had no social media so u actually had to go out to meet, so pubs were busy all time. Not many cameras so if u was a bit light fingered or in a fight u we’re going to get away, music , clothes we wore it first. Birds all looked different not like clone mannequin today, could go on

GT is right. Growing up in London in the 70s was incredible times. Wouldn't swap it for anything. No mobile phones, no anti-social media, no 24/7 big brother surveillance etc

tbh i think everyone will look back on their youth with nostalgia and think it was a great time. i'm only 31 so have grown up in this world, can still remember the relatively safe feelings of the 90s and then how the world felt completely different after 9/11.
but i still had fun growing up and got to enjoy things others may turn their noses up at. gaming for example was a huge part of my youth, i used to do all nighters with friends playing various games online together over voice chat and it was a real fun time. made many friends online and was part of a gaming community that would meet up a couple of times a year for a weekend of partying. even met my now ex from online gaming lol.
even before i met my ex i was still doing all the things every young man in clubs do. struggled with various addictions throughout my life too and the access to various forms of help is something i'm very grateful for, even though i'm now back to teetering with addiction issues lol.
shows throughout my life have been great too though. lots of great shows and movies have come about over the past decade. lots of terrible ones as well though lol.

He use to send big sheets of blotting paper down dosed in Acid, we had some all weekend on them😀 |

I used to love a bit of the old LSD back in the day. Definitely not particularly good for the grey matter though. Got myself in a bit of a pickle on the stuff in my late teens.
