Like a ghost of Christmas past!
Les and Clive departing, the former leaving a massive hole in the squad that wouldn't be replaced.
Raymondo using the Les money on Hateley (I seem to remember him, leg-in-cast, appearing in sky studio the first game after we signed him), Ned the only Aussie not to settle in West London Zelic and Simon Osborne. Wasting money long before Fernandes came on the scene 😂
And thus began our slide down the table.
Was it that season Swindon beat us home and away on their way to finishing bottom of the table?

Never recovered from that season. That’s when the slide began
Wilkins was a piss poor manager. Wright, like TF, heart was in the right place but he got exploited and chose wrong managers.

Jurgen Somner in goal summed up Raymondo Wilkins judgement of players. A absolute disaster of a goalkeeper. Hateley on crutches being presented to the crowd v Spurs on Sky that season was the one that really killed the club off until the takeover in 2007/08.

Wherever we'll be we'll be, we're going to Endersleigh.... Forest away that season was one of the funniest days I have ever had supporting QPR. What made it even more fun was the knowledge that we were going to have a season taking in new grounds and thrashing opponents left, right and centre with some talking about 100 points and 100 goals... "He's got a pineapple on his head" and "Jesus, Jesus give us a miracle" Best away day ever! Do you remember the German fans coming over from the stand they were in to applaud the QPR fans at the end? I don't think we left the ground until almost 6 O'Clock that night and some of the players (Wilkins, & Macca?) joining us on the terraces in the singing after the game.

Didn't Jesus turn up in the villa away end during a league cup tie up there around that time? 😂

Somner was a reserve keeper at Luton when we bought him. He was awful and alobg with Zelic very bad value for money. Raymondo also bought Steve Slade and Gregory Goodridge but think that was 96/97 both were pony and shows as a club we still knew how to wastr money on rubbish.

Got to disagree with your assessment of Zelic. He went on to have a fine career in Germany and was considered one of the most consistent players over there. He just never settled in London and fell out with people as he became more frustrated. He was a dreadful signing for us irespective of what he did before or after us.

He was a dreadful signing for us irespective of what he did before or after us. He was but you said he was bad value for money which isn't true. He was great value for money but didn't work out which are two different things. How many games did he play for QPR? 1.2 million and played 4 games so that is bad value for money especially in 1996. Feel free to correct me if you think 4 apoearances equals good value for money.

We also made a loss so very much bad value for our club.
