I suppose worst case scenario we just recall the likes of Giles Phillips, Paul Smyth, Aramide Oteh, maybe even Niko Hamalainen. If Niko can cover Wallace at left back then you could utilise Manning in the midfield more often.
I'm not for a minute saying that this will strengthen the squad but at the same time, I don't think we are likely to go up or down this year. Maybe we just saw an opportunity to clear some players that weren't really in the managers plans with a view to bringing more players in during the summer.
