Bookham/Leatherhead mainly. Although I spent a few years in Oman, Kuwait and also Ayrshire in Scotland when I was very young.

We were almost neighbours Al. I went to Malorees school round the corner from there, then often on to Queens Park for a kickabout.

Bit of a naughty manor mate. My first flat when I moved out of home at 18 was in Sutton. The Rose Hill boys had quite the reputation. I almost ended up the wrong side of a few lads from there in the Litten Tree one night.

Portobello, then the suburban utopia of Hayes, then Twickenham.

Litten Tree could be murder ,if you weren`t from the area . It was the Whistle Stop then Buffers when i was young ,but still could be moody then ! We tended to stay our end and drunk in the Angel or the Crown in Mitcham . Rose Hill did have a reputation ,but so does every massive council estate . I drove round there recently and thought ,fxxk me this area has gone downhill ! I`m sure it never looked as bad as that when i was young !

I lived off Kilburn Lane, down from the station a couple of streets before QP estate....you were the posh side😁 I used to play in the park most holidays and on the tennis courts as a young teen. Mum came from Denmark Rd in the 20s.

And yes, Johannesburg is the most violent city I've ever spent any significant amount of time, from virtually every perspective. I've seen some pretty crazy violence erupt at bars there over what seemed to be next to nothing. Mind you, the same could definitely be said of Sutton High Street. I used to knock around with a lad who took too many steroids. It was virtually impossible to get through a Friday night there at the time (and I'm going back to circa 2000/01) without getting into some kind of agg. Cape Town where I live right now is a bit different to Joburg though. Yea, crime is never too far away and some of the gangland stuff that goes on is savage, but the clubs and bars are actually very civilised. Your average Capetonian from the suburbs typically isn't into all that, especially the younger generation.

Grew up about 100 yards from Hammersmith Bridge, so Barnes/Hammersmith were my manors... I must've have crossed that bridge well over 10,000 times by the time I left home at 19!
