Obviously, going lower loft was a mistake but it's not as simple as just moving. Why? Just in case anyone is wondering, kids used to have their own area at the front of the lower loft directly behind the goal, separated from the rest of us by a 3ft wall. It worked just fine for about 50 years. In other words the old Lower Loft identity is perfectly compatible with kids, you just need someone with half a brain to figure it out how it could work.

It worked just fine for about 50 years. In other words the old Lower Loft identity is perfectly compatible with kids, you just need someone with half a brain to figure it out how it could work. Are you allowed kids to be unaccompanied these days? The kids were mostly accompanied back then, dads used to just sling em over the wall for the duration. No worries. They were closer to the action than anyone else in the entire ground. (Apart from the wheelchair contingent who were shipped in early doors, and were practically on the pitch.) Dunno if there is a lower age limit these days....

I can't see that happening these days though, so they'll have to be re housed, which impacts their parents and those where the kids get put.

I saw on FB that people in upper and lower loft received a questionnaire about safe standing. Did any of you receive this and what did it ask?
I am in Ellerslie and not received anything.

www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/rail-seating-230322/FOLLOWING extensive consultation with supporters, the club can now confirm our intention is to install rail seating in the Loftus Road Lower Stand after more than 74% (74.13%) of fans surveyed confirmed this would be their preferred location for its implementation. Please find details below of our proposal. The changes will see 1,063 seats in the Lower Loft converted into rail seating ahead of the 2022/23 season. The Lower Loft will have a combination of both seated and rail-seating seats available within the stand. This implementation will require changes to the Family Stand, with Blocks NL and PL in the Lower Loft and PU in the Upper Loft becoming designated family areas. Families within these areas will still have access to all family facilities in the stand, including the Matchday Activities Room. As a result of the proposed changes, several upgrades will be made within the stand, including additional food and drink facilities within the Upper and Lower Loft. Supporters will be able to access the Upper and Lower Loft from both the South Africa Road and Loftus Road entrances. However, due to capacity limits and the likelihood of more fans using the Blue & White Bar following the implementation of rail seating in the Lower Loft, the Blue & White Bar would need to become a ‘members only’ area as we manage access within this area. Memberships will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at a cost of £40 per person per season. Non-members of the Blue & White Bar will be able to purchase beverages from the newly-installed food and drink facilities. The club have now opened a consultation period, with season ticket holders within the Loft being contacted directly with further details on how to get in touch if needed. I am not sure why they have done it this way around. Would make more sense for standing to the Ellerslie Road side rather than SA side? Plus, means the kids can see the players warming up. Weird overall that it's half a stand but I can make my peace with that.

Absolutely fucking moronic. They have now split the q,p and r blocks by putting the fucking family area slap bang in the middle. Honestly whoever is making these decisions needs firing. Absolute embarrassment

£40 membership for the pleasure of using an overcrowded shitty fucking bar with ignorant staff and beer that taste like piss.
Who the fuck makes these decisions at the club?
I don’t know why they are making out they are concerned about over crowding. Have they never been over to Ellerslie Road on a match day.

Fpr the bar thing, is it a separate £40 from the usual memberships that they offer? Or is it inclusive? If it's the latter, does that mean that ST holders aren't allowed in?
Be good to get the feedback from the club as to why they have moved it away from the traditional singing section

i think the club are assuming that people in the PU block will end up moving to the standing areas in the lower loft.
was there any consultation done to fans in the PU block? i like that the club are listening to our ideas though so they deserve some credit for that at least.

Yeah, agree with that. I also wonder if its for how it looks on TV, so that ground looks more packed on evening games for example.
And I guess if people sing in that corner, it should reach R block who also join in and before you know it, those in the middle will also join in.
Or, probably less ST in those sections so less impact! I imagine that the safe standing will spread once it sells out every week (Assuming it does)

I’m prob In Minority here with this view but I’m fed up in life with everything having to be consulted on sometimes You just have to do shit and if people get upset so be it or nothing ever gets done

I believe that this will be the start of it all going there. It depends how popular it is. If it doesn't sell out then they wont do anything

However, dependent on their age and height, it is worth considering moving to the Family Stand section if you have any concerns about them being able to see the pitch.
