From Memory, QPR currently rent two training grounds from Imperial College, one for the first team & U23's/ U18's and the the other one for the rest of the teams. Warburton is very much against this as he wants smooth progression through the sides and he wants the youngsters to mix with the senior players to build team spirit and aspirations. I believe Imperial College are struggling for money and looking to get rid of the training grounds. Cheap and cheerfull not an ideal site in terms of air quality imo

You're right Bill. The news that they are continuing to support Ealing Council's plans for Warren Farm may mean that they undisclosed site falls in their jurisdiction along with any other benefits they may get from having an interest in Warren Farm.

Having said the Harlington site is not ideal re pollution levels Heathrow M4 M25 etc which i have often thought must affect our players on matchdays.
This site if bought at a knock down price could be a goldmine if 3rd runway at LHR gets cancelled in light of current events.
Could be a site for houses srep forward Fat Tony.

"The Hanwell Nature group were last month granted permission to seek a further judicial review."
Persistent buggers, I'll give them that. And it seems they won the battle in the end. The article leaves more questions than it answers though. Primarily a) Would this have happened had it not been for Coronavirus, and b) The location of this mystery new site...
The 8 year plan rages on...

Shame thought we would get this one over the line.
Still think the old training ground which wasps own should be an option even if it’s sharing again. Huge space used more by the local schools then wasps. Only ever see them hiring it out fit kids parties and Farmers market
Wasted resource which is local and ideal

Any idea on the new site? Assuming there is actually one. As mentioned above Harlington and a plot in Cranford they’re looking at.

Used to live in Cranford only 2 sites i can think of old BA sports ground off Southall lane alongside M4 or Rectory farm bordered by the A4 and A312 Parkway right under the flightpath into Heathrow.

I know Ruislip golf course on West End Road/ A40 was being considered at one point. Better air quality than the sites around LHR too.

I know Ruislip golf course on West End Road/ A40 was being considered at one point. Better air quality than the sites around LHR too. Closed now due to HS2 works. Heard it going to reopen as a nine hole but that is an interesting point would be ideal. West Ruislip tube across the road and twenty minute journey to White City. Massive site, room for training ground houses and a whole lot more. Ill have to have a word with Mr.Puddifoot head of Hillingdon council, lives just down the road from me. Actually its off Ickenham high street.

to add to 73's question, with regards to the new site, how many acres are we talking about. plus how does it compare to warren farm in size? The site is 27 acres. Warren Farm is 61 acres. From various posts across the spectrum; There is now only the need to supply pitches etc. for QPR only so the smaller site won't be any issue. There is a community college already there where our academy players are being educated, a plus point. Warren Farm would have needed nine months of infill to level out the area, the Concorde site is already level. There is the possibility to now build a Cat 1 academy.

So assume that we are building something that befits a club of our size and stature and not some bell ringing singing and dancing thing that was being mentioned at Warren Farm. Owners or the club paying for it Esox?

Owners or the club paying for it Esox? The WF had to incorporate all the public access stuff which is now no longer necessary and the size of Heston should be more than enough to encapsulate the QPR parts of the WF plan without too many changes. I have absolutely no insider knowledge of how the funding will be structured (or insider knowledge of anything other than chats to players and officials at matches) but I know Lee Hoos is fond of a Bond Issue but after C-19 that may be a non starter with fans having to be very careful with their money during what is looming up as the worst recession in modern history.

Interesting the bond scheme. Who was paying for Warren Farm had that got the green light. I always thought the grinning idiot of a chairman was making sure he built us a training ground?

Interesting the bond scheme. Who was paying for Warren Farm had that got the green light. I always thought the grinning idiot of a chairman was making sure he built us a training ground? That was the conversation I had with Lee Hoos where I found out about the Bond Issue intention for WF. Alternative sites were also mentioned but in a fairly dismissive way but I guess that he has been looking around even whilst it was still firmly WF in the picture. This isn't meant as a criticism of you 73 as there are so many on other forums and SM sites that still think he is a string puller at W12, but TF has been out of the picture wrt the running of QPR for around three years now. His legacy still weighs heavily on our functionality but the brunt of the running of the club is Amit, Hoos & Ferdinand with Ruben in control of the purse strings. I would imagine Fernandes and Kamarudin Meranun have a lot more on their plate to worry about than QPR these days with the Airbus bribery scandal.
