esoxlucius only on the bench from the start.  Not with my arthritic knee, damaged lungs and now I have discovered the lung damage has caused me a heart problem. I may be fit enough to come on for a penalty shoot out at a pinch.  A comprehensive win today will hopefully have a placebo effect on you Esox..you might be fit enough for play offs yet.😀 |

Guys I’m going try not moan about Manning until The end of the season 😁 who is going run a book on how long that lasts 😂 I watched the whole 90 mins of the PNE game in the week and Manning, with Pugh and Ball in front of him was a defensive disaster but once Amos and Chair came on and broke up the distribution Manning really came into his own and was dangerous. He is always susceptible to the ball over his head to the flanks but it only seems to be Barbet that gets that and moves over to provide the cover there. I imagine Neil Banfield has his work cut out with MW not getting involved in defensive coaching. |

MW not getting involved in defensive coaching. Yeah well it was obvious for months before Clint confirmed it, there was no defensive coaching. End of.
You're right though, it puts a massive premium on the quality of the defence coach (whoever has to do it). As long as MW is around someone else has to take responsibility for the most important part of a manager's job.
It is a truly bizarre situation, the absolute reverse of any proven football strategy. Even total football only works if you have players with the ability to cover situations. You can't just ignore it and hope for the best.
