Maybe Shodipo aside they're not exactly setting the world alight are they? I worry that we kid ourselves about our so called youngsters. 22/23 they should be establishing themselves if they're any good, not warming subs' benches elsewhere. There is no pressure on the first 15/16 from within the club.

Players like shodipo and oteh aren’t children anymore. They should be in and around the first team by this age. If they are good enough.... which they aren’t

The board protest their poverty, so why are failing coaching / scouting staff in jobs for life? Wtf is wrong with these people?

Southend when my son was there u18s upwards 99% released players mainly from London clubs. Not many clubs seem to actually produce their own players anymore.

Do you honestly think any of the lads out on loan (aside from maybe Shodipo and Smyth) are gonna add any genuine competition for 1st team places mate? Better off out on loan. Let another club pick up their wages for now. If they perform then we use them next season. If they don't, they've at least been in the shop window to shift them on in the summer.

No mate, my point was they're not much good. Agree with you mate. All those that are any good are getting minutes at the moment. Shodipo aside (and he's only convinced me in the last 2 months) all the other lot that have been there or there abouts like Smyth and Oteh need moving on this summer.

Dykes has 1 goal from open play, 4 pens, and what 1 assist? from 30 games. I think even Oteh would be able to replicate that, given the same number of minutes. And Kelman? Not sure he´s any kind of upgrade on Rem either and we pay his wages too.

Scored 5 goals in 21 games at League 2 level this season but has only played 3 full 90 minute games.
Would be interesting to see how he gets on at that level given a lot more full games.

I can see him wanting to stay there and us selling him.
