players who are running down their contracts wont be picked. Good.
eze's transfer is almost complete. Good.
eze money will go to keep the operations of the club running and our transfer targets remain to be low fees and free transfers. WTF.

Hopefully this is to give the impression we aren't going to use that money. If clubs knew we were splashing a bit of cash they will inflate their asking prices.

Tbf the club need to invest the money back into operations to ensure our viability to keep running the football club.
I imagine some money will also get advised for projects such as developing the training ground.
I also think the club are becoming much more smarter with their public relations and they want everyone to think believe we don’t have to much money.
It’s great to read that BOS and Manning won’t play if they don’t sign new contracts as well as a year on the sidelines will have a detrimental effect on both their abilities to get big deals elsewhere. Very clever and shrewd move.
It’s also not the end of the world if we do indeed bring in more frees and loans as there are some very good options around currently.
I also still think the club will give Warbs 5/6 mill to spend and look what he done with 50k last year!

Wouldn't help us at all if that manager came out and said he's got a healthy transfer budget this window, would it mate?
I'm sure what he's saying there is somewhat true. I also believe we've got 3 or 4m quid to play with this window. Although it will only be spent on players that we are confident have the potential to be sold for even more in the future.

Absolutely mate. You think gates receipts are paying the wages at the moment? Like it or not, even if it wasn't for Covid, we need player sales to make the books balance. To spend the bulk of the Eze transfer fee on new signings would be very irresponsible.

It was always on the cards, with COVID the club will have taken a massive hit financially. Anyone who actually thought we'd get much, if anything, for players from that money was just plain kidding themselves.

We'll add 3 or 4 more players at least for a reasonably small outlay and we'll be good enough for at very least mid-table next season. Unless your ambitions for next season are promotion at all costs, there really isn't any reason for hysterics right now!

With Eze leaving and with Warburton saying that the likes of Manning and bright are going to be sidelined, then the squad is looking very thin on numbers and quality.

He never said we won’t be spending a few million. We’ve already spent more than we have the last couple of years. It’s obvious we will add to the squad. What’s he supposed to say? We’ve got cash on the hip? That in agents language means inflated prices

For a skint club we’ve already spent 2.5 mill before even selling Eze and Warbs has pretty much said today Manning and BOS are going to be sold if they don’t sign new deals or they can only reserve football for the year.
So they are either going to be with us which will be like two new signings or we are going to generate a few more mill on sales from them.
Our squad right now has relegation written all over it - our first 11 is not adequate let alone having any squad depth.
It’s to much to expect Kakay, Materson, mido, Thomas, Smyth and chair you play key roles in the team and not expect to starve off relegation. To think some fans think we can loose Wells, Hugil, Eze, Hall, Pugh, Leinster and Rangel and only need two or three replacement is beyond my comprehension.
We need a very busy window whether that’s through free’s, loans or 2 or 3 more purchased players.
There are some great champ players available on the fee market right now and expect us to take advantage of that and I also think the board will go and get dickie and buy 2 or 3 more players and then work the free and loan market for other recruitment.

I'm not saying spend the majority of the Eze money on transfers your mis understanding me
I'm saying the board take 12 million and give 6-7 million to Warbs for new players
Why would you not do that ??
Yes Croys last year was entertaining with Wells Hugill Eze and Bos
But they are all fucking off this year mate

Gen, we've not spent a lot these last few windows, yet we are doing better than we were in many years gone past. We've also got 3 young players that we brought on for peanuts attracting attention and/or multi million pound bids from bigger clubs. Just show a bit of faith. Some of the kids coming through are decent and we'll bring in a few more first team players in the transfer market.
Anyone who thinks we'll be anywhere near relegation next season needs their head looking at in my opinion.
