Am I right in thinking that as things stand with Dykes away on international duty that Oteh is our only striker option this weekend against Plymouth?
Highlights how important it is going to be to recruit in this area. Touch wood Dykes comes back injury free or we’d be bang in trouble.
I read we were linked with a Brighton forward on loan but anyone else seen any players we have at least been linked with up top?

The silver lining is that he doesn’t have to fly half way across the world to play for his country like he could have done.

BOS and Smyth can play the role (and Ramkilde as mentioned), but another striker is surely a priority.

I personally don’t think BOS can play up top. Other then pace he shows non of the attributes you Want from a striker.
He’s good at what he does and that’s attacking FB and getting balls in box

Dykes is the only out and out striker we have (and he's a converted defender with zero experience at this level).
I'm more concerned with CB and back line set up. We don't have a back line leader.
But everyone seems happy enough...

I reckon Scott Hogan could potentially be the answer. I wonder if Warburton is making any attempts to sign him?
Doesn't seem to be much interest, probably on high wages I'd guess. Maybe he'll get his move towards the end of the window. Perhaps a cheap loan like Wells and Hugill were.

I saw we were linked to Nathan Tella of Southampton. A young striker.

No they brought him!! Signed a 3 year deal with them.
I can’t imagine Austin and Dykes being the most mobile striker force but he still knows where the net is!!

Also worth noting that Austin had Covid in March and came out and said that he was quite unwell.
I know first hand that the road back to previous levels of fitness isn't a straightforward one for a lot of people.

A Swedish born striker is rumoured to be on his way to us. Victor is his first name. I read it on LFW.

Think Hogan could be a great player for you but the team needs to be set up to play to him as lone striker. He got a lot of goals for Brentford like that but really isn't a team player. He went to Villa for a lot of money but they never used him in that role and consequently he was considered a failure there and likewise at Stoke. Came good at Brum though and showed he still has what it takes. He is a bit of a miserable so and so though unless he is scoring goals. Guess that's what you want in a striker!

Is he no good in a duo mants? Always strikes me as type of player that would play well off someone

We should have tried to get Steven Fletcher or even Glenn Murray as both have bags of experience and that would have helped Dykes out especially early doors.

We should have tried to get Steven Fletcher or even Glenn Murray as both have bags of experience and that would have helped Dykes out especially early doors. I'd say the fact that Fletcher turned down an extension at Sheff Weds cos he had a better offer Stoke suggests he probably wanted more money than we'd have been able to offer him mate. We had a couple of expensive signings last summer. Pugh was (apparently) on quite big wages, Hugill and Wells were also certainly expensive loan signings. I think this window will be different. Perhaps a couple of older free transfers but clearly our plan was to bring in a couple of younger players that will cost a few million but should appreciate in value, and weren't looking for the earth in terms of a wage (i.e. Dykes and Dickie). I wouldn't be that surprised if we even have 1 more of those up or sleeve.

I saw Bristol City signed Chris Martin today on a free which I think is a very smart move for them.
I haven’t seen many rumours over the last few days linking us with many people. There’s the Arsenal reserve striker every one raves about that I believe us and Brentford have enquires about!
