Never understood why ManUtd hired Solksjär in the first place? What has he done as a manager? Stupid club.

Solskjær criticised for using old fashioned training methods. I wouldn`t have thought him to be old school as such, but what do I know? Nada, to be honest ...

Well he spent most his playing days under fergie who you suspect might have had a touch of the old school about him

Well he spent most his playing days under fergie who you suspect might have had a touch of the old school about him That`s true, but the club was offering him a new coaching staff as a way out of his misery. Bottomline: He orcestrated his own downfall - which is a pity for us Norwegians who aren`t excatly spoiled by having managers around in many top international football clubs neither historically nor presently...

I think the Prem relegation fight will be bloody interesting this year.
Norwich new manager and won their last two. Newcastle, new manager and surely will be improving.
I think there are a lot of teams who will be bricking it at the moment.
Most likely contenders for the drop, in no particular order: Brentford Leeds Burnley Norwich Newcastle
Not out of the woods: Southampton Aston Villa Watford
Unlikely, but could just possibly implode: Brighton Everton(!)

If Derby didn’t think it could get worse now Ashley wants to buy them Is he as bad as the magpies made out. Ran a club as a business so it broke even or made profit. They demanded he spend loads he spent what they could afford Newcastle fans possibly most delusional out there

Big club, huge dedicated support - if they don’t generate enough to be a top eight side there is something wrong.

I went to a game with my Geordie mate up at St James this season and I got a ticket with lounge access for less than 50 quid. Cheapest tickets at Chelsea and Arsenal are more than that. Then you have the fact they aren't as desirable for sponsors. It's also a worse location for attracting players than the London side or even the Manchester sides. Westy is right. Newcastle are a club that are at best somewhere between the 10th and 15th biggest in England. Ashley ran them as such. Alright they under achieved at time during his tenure, but that's football. That being said, Ashley is a prick. And he was always fighting a losing battle to win the fans over being a Southerner and a Chelsea fan.

The more the fans hated Ashley the more he defied them. Should have kept Benitez. I knew a Newcastle insider through my job at the time and that was only about money apparently. I agree it is a bit of an outpost but they attracted players like Ferdinand and Ginola in the Shearer days and that would easily happen again. Ashley did spend money just not very well. Surely a bigger club than the Leicesters, Palaces, Brightons even Everton? Potential stifled at a time when clubs were really moving their game forward.

Rubbish Al what have they ever done or won??? Is it one trophy
Big ground big and loyal fanbase that’s all they have to hang there hat on but their fans for some reason Think they are huge imo because they had a purple patch under Bobby robson where they attracted shearer and ginola etc and got champions league. Aside from that they have done absolutely nothing
On a par with Leeds or West Ham. Reasonable sized clubs who make up the numbers

Reasonable sized clubs who make up the numbers They’ve done nothing in the time that Brighton for example have gone from not even having a ground to being a decent prem outfit. That sort of commitment is all Newcastle fans would like and see where it gets them.
