One theory is he's stalling re-signing due to the speculation over Marti's own future. Putting yourself in his shoes why would he sign a new deal if there's doubts about the manager staying, and he's already seen that happen with Beale. I'd rather the speculation over Marti was quashed first tbh. What speculation over Marti's future? This is a rumour based on a rumour Stan!

Personally think reason he would want to stay is because he hasn't been able to get more money elsewhere. Become a bit cynical about this guy's motivation and attitude. Great on his day, but how many of those have we seen the last year or so? Have confidence in this regime to find a replacement if he buggers off. With his hamstring would be wary of giving him a long contract. He will be offered way more money than we pay surely? If he is then I think he will be off. Remains to be seen what other clubs offer him. Maybe they are putting lots of safety clauses in their offer because they are worried about his fitness. My point is given how he and his father agent have been hustling, if he stays with us it will be because it suits his bank balance, not his loyalty to the club, Marti, the fans or anything idealistic like that.

Isn't that the same for most footballers these days (or indeed most professions)? In fact even more the case with footballers as it's such a short career (15 years if you're lucky). Let's not be naïve here.

Marti will be here this season. As for Willock, he’ll undoubtedly receive offers of higher wages elsewhere, so if he stays it won’t be down to financial reasons.

Let's not be naïve here. To a large extent yes, although the rumours (right or wrong) are his father has been deliberately running down the contract and actively pursing a move for ages with a move to Hull only aborted in Jan because they apparently wouldn't meet the high wage demands. Field, Chair and others could have run down their contracts but they are among those to re-sign since they have been with us. I was responding to a point from James who was saying the "Marti effect" might be enough to keep him - my point was I think with the Willocks (and maybe as you and Acton both say) with a lot of footballers the bigger motivation will by the "money effect"

Not aiming v high for a footballer might have been the end of the night. i'm hardly a cassanova but had a right munter one night that i walked away from because when we got down to it i may as well have been going at it with a foul smelling mr tumnus. still makes me cringe.

So he bought a girl a drink in a bar? I’m shocked and appalled! Hang him I say. I personally hope he was absolutely shit faced.

So he wasn't in the first day back video posted by the club. Are we to assume that's because his contract has come to an end or because he is too busy failing to get off with munters on some dodgy package holiday? Or perhaps both?

On 1st July I'm fully expecting to see a 'Due to the expiry of Chris Willocks' contract, Chris has departed QPR. We wish him well & thank Chris for his efforts' blah blah

☹️
How about just play him at 9 and keep the ball on the ground until we can afford a decent striker?

I'm pretty through with Willock. He's better than Smyth for sure but a shadow of his former self. Went missing for long stretches when we really needed him. Not too fussed if he stays or goes.

Not as arsed about that as I thought I'd be though. I trust Marti to get a replacement in. Hopefully he gets the backing.
