I feel he is needed for continuity. Or am I wrong? How good or say valuable to the team is he really? On his day he’s very valuable. Let’s see if Marti can get those days back. I think he can. We saw in photos back end of last season he clearly has a good relationship with him, Marti is probably the reason why Willock hasn't outright rejected any new deal.

We still have relatively few (2) who can go past a defender on a regular basis. He's one of them.
The other one is Ilias. We need them both.

He's in Jamaica.
Strange as his contract has expired and he's not with the team training, bonding and getting fit.
What is it Rangers? He gone or he signing ffs?!

If he is not ready to commit then fark him off. club needs to come out and announce that he has gone. we can find someone that is willing and able. let the scouts get to work.

That's a thought. Maybe he couldn't get back?
My colleague was due to fly back from Jamaica Monday but all flights cancelled. Just a guess.

Shouldn’t he be training irrespective of whether he’s joining us? Needs to be training now like all EFL footballers not just having a longer holiday!

What I love about this site is that after a seismic night in British politics, I come on here and see we're still chatting about Chris Willock. And not a mention of the election!

How do we know what he's doing when he's not putting up a couple of posts on Instagram? He could be running 20 miles a day and doing circuit training for all we know.

I do not believe that things are so totally sequential as many fans think. While the Willock situation is unknown to we fans I am sure that something must be being done out of the public eye and click bait.
That "something" obviously must negotiations with Willock but I am equally sure that work is going on and has already or will shortly have produced a shortlist of replacements if he goes. The concept that we wait for him to say yes or no before we start looking for alternatives is one that is often posted or implied but in reality I am sure life is different
Of course there are some other factors and dependencies in the equation which makes moves sequential unless you have a pot of cash.. If he stays with a release clause can we afford to sign a ready made replacement in case some club exercise his clause during this window or January ? Can we convince a replacement who wants regular football to sign if he knows he will likely be a second choice behind Willock if he stays. Will we be getting a windfall from Eze and how will it be spent. All unknowns publicly and I would not expect clubs to be commenting about it.
On a slightly related note we have signed some young players with good potential and some young players with experience even if we have not heard of them. Our new man from Portugal has just played basically a full season in the Portuguese Premier league (the same as how we picked up Willock) so I expect he will be a regular. I also expect Marti will blood some of the others at the right time - that is what he does. People like Bennie for example.
We all know we need to improve the striker situation but some of the comments about Frey are a bit too harsh. He came to us unfit and struggled. But watching video of him in training and warm up he has shifted a lot of weight and looks pretty lean and sharp. Some are worried about his age - 29 - what's the problem? it just means he has experience and some at a decent level. Our biggest problem in this window as usual is the season starting well before the window closes and if we end up changing the squad when we are already playing it will not help and take more time to get the strongest settled team on the pitch.
The key now is patience and trust in Nourry and Marti to continue as they are - slowly building the foundations of a good team without splashing the cash. That's the QPR way , apart from a few years of some mega rich out of control owners. I went to my first game at Loftus Road in September 1957 ( yes 57) so in 68 years I have seen most things you can see in football so I am not going to throw my toys out of the pram because of Willock or any other player. The club and fans are more important than any individual.

Eze money will be used to sustain the club. Might be a small amount released for players but we won’t be signing anyone expensive.

You don’t need to spend fortunes with free market and actually scouting outside the box

If it’s all agreed and they are poised to announce it upon his return from his latest holiday, all good - providing he knuckles down to make up for the pre-season he has missed.
But if he is stringing this out to see if he can get more money from WBA or Cardiff I hope we announce on Monday that he has left the club and we wish him the very best of British.

You don’t need to spend fortunes with free market and actually scouting outside the box True in some ways but finding a proven double figure goal scorer in the championship is expensive. Many clubs are looking for the same thing and not coming up with much. My feeling is that we may end up getting someone from abroad on a free or low transfer fee - and then wait for the angry brigade on X to try to destroy him before he pulls on a shirt. Even if Willock stays I do not like the idea of playing him out of position as a no. 9 as has been suggested. He and Chair can be game changers in their natural position - once we start mucking around with their positions they will not be at the same level or might not even be interested in playing there.

No, not ideal but we need someone to put the ball in the net and he can. If Millwall can pick up Langstaff for £700k I’m not sure how seriously we are looking.
