Freed up some wages and hopefully we can buy in a better attitude along with a contribution on the pitch.

Smyth is shite Corbs not even close as replacement not a replacement but disagree on him being shite, he isn't a first teamer but a good option to have. we will bring in a replacement for willock but i still believe his loss isn't a huge deal.

Give his wages to Issac Hayden Get him in Defence sorted Midfield sorted Go get him Christian before someone else does Not sure we are going to pay his wages General. If he wants to come he will have to take a massive wage cut, and very soon. Suspect we will go for someone younger with resale value: footballleagueworld.co.uk/stumbling-block-emerges-in-qpr-pursuit-of-isaac-hayden-newcastle-united/Re the Nourry statement on Willock, I also wonder whether it was deliberately pre-emptive to stop Willock snr using the QPR offer to up Cardiff's offer? If so good on him for not behaving in the usual weak-as-piss QPR way and instead showing backbone.

Have to say, the Willock story is an unusual one. Growing up at Arsenal with his brothers, managed by their father, but then Chris being the one shipped out to Benfica. A move that did not really work for him, and his path back to QPR was very much about our assistant manager (ex-Arsenal) thinking he was worth a shot. Once in the QPR team, he performed well, but then injuries impacted on his confidence and progress. On the pitch he would pull out of tackles, not always cover back, and looked unhappy. Presumably, all this time, his father was telling him he deserved better than his QPR lot. Successive managers have either discarded him or worked with him, but in the background, years of negotiations with Willock Senior, totally fruitless and probably unrealistic. To sign for Cardiff now, suggests that was the most money on offer, and nothing else. Selling the son for a handful of silver. Throughout, Willock has looked miserable, choosing to not celebrate with the fans, looking like an individual and not a team player. All the time, probably being poorly advised by his father... Shades of Michael Jackson and his dad?

At the end of the day football is a job to these guys so if they follow the money is it that bad. If your builder do you do the cheap job or the expensive one?
Obviously want him to have stayed but not bitter about it.

Obviously want him to have stayed but not bitter about it. Absolutely agree. He will work for another 6-7 years and will probably have to live the rest of his life with the money he earns during those years. Don't understand the bullshit he gets from other posters.

If you’ve got cotton hamstrings which will most likely reduce the length of your career, you can’t be blamed for chasing the money while you can.

If he is chasing the money he should have gone to Hull in January where their new rich owners are throwing cash at players like there is no tomorrow. But then of course we would have got a transfer fee and his signing on fee might have been lower. So pocket the upfront cash from Cardiff instead.
Another good talent headed once for the PL and ends up starting the downhill spiral of a career through bad advice.

One of the Willock brothers has slipped down the league after holding out for too much money and leaving the club where he was popular. Sound familiar? Willock got a very easy ride here because fans remembered his (considerable) past glories. He won’t have that credit in the bank at Cardiff. Be interesting to see if he miraculously looks fit, keen and hard-working or whether he continues to fanny around like he can’t quite be arsed. Either way from a QPR perspective I don’t think his behaviour has been great and I can’t hand on heart say I wish him particularly well

Was fed up initially about him going but on reflection he’s no great loss. We had to do without him a lot, he didn’t make the most of his opportunities off the bench or once selected again and is clearly not the player he was. If that is because he was cheating us he can fuck off - if it’s because he’s knackered well sorry, but we had enough dead wood. Don’t usually pay much attention to ex-players but might watch this one.
