Do we not have any young, pacey tricky players in the B/u23s that could step up? Derby, Forest and a few others have played players that no one had heard of and are reaping the rewards. if we did he wouldn't play them if we did they’d be out on loan somewhere

we'll probably have to mix it up. 3 at the back just isn't working anymore.
433 maybe the way forward with who we have avaliable?

George Thomas... come on down! Or recall Stephen Duke-McKenna from Torquay? That would be brilliant. Play them both.

Would be fun if players he’s largely ignored got us in play-offs (or beyond😁) but I can’t see it happening. Post match interviews would be interesting.

I’d have no faith in Jesus as he had to die to come back better.

Operation makes it sound like a serious injury so let’s hope he’s not plagued with it. Don’t rush him back eh?

Was gonna say the same. He's been struggling to recover from the same injury for months now.

He was not given opportunity to recover as looked very much like he was playing with injury for weeks before it finally went. Suppose should have been rested or taken out for op but too much to loose

It's going to take an incredible goal this season to better that one today. It wasn't just the brilliant strike but the whole build up. Starting in his own half and the upper body strength to knock off both those challenges. He didn't even need to dummy them, instead just relying on superb strength, dribbling, composure and finally that wonder strike whilst running at pace. I reckon we saw our goal of the season today. Bit like Gerry first home game in 75 vs Liverpool. In recent times, this was up there with Eze away to Stoke and BOS' wonder goal couple of years back (I think against Ipswich).

Agree, will live on all season like Francis’ goal - just wish he’d left it for a few weeks😁 The highlights are on mainstream TV again so no one is going to miss that goal.

Good in that it'll push his value up. Bad in the attention it draws.

Good in that it'll push his value up. Bad in the attention it draws. Yes. The club seem to be better at identifying targets these days. If he carries on like this and attracts an offer that’s too good to refuse late in the window - especially as he is proving his fitness - I hope the club has identified a striker to replace him

Not being at game was excited to see the goal. It’s good but in all honesty not as great as was anticipating from posts.

Picked it up in own half, strong run, resisted challenges, cracking shot and keeper no chance. The only one in our team who will score a goal like that.

Carrying the ball from his own half, evading two challenges, and putting the ball in the top corner, from outside the box and under pressure! You're a tough customer, what more do you want?🤣

Was 1 hell of a goal. Reminded me at the time of Tarbs v Preston (minus the nut megs lol).
Willock is some player, we are a totally different outfit with a fit Willock in the side. He really does deserve to be playing at the top level IMO... Although selfishly I hope he doesn't just yet as we need to cling on to him ha!
His ball retention is superb & he knows when to try the special stuff & when to make the simple ball (Chair, take note...). Also he does graft & put in a shift which you don't always get with the flair players. Was a joy to see him back to his best Saturday.

Well that stirred the hornets nest 🤣😂
I was expecting overhead kick or something from reactions. It was lovely goal and perhaps being there in person, as mentioned above could make a difference, but he beat two men who put in two weak challenges he did put it beautifully in top corner.
Just reading social media at time and people saying goal of season was expecting something bit more extravagant.
You will get five goals like that up and down the leagues most weekends.

Not watching us you won't. Our best player by a mile and he enjoys taking the game to the opposition. Build the team around this guy and get a good release clause in his contract now.
