Most teams wouldn’t release a recently injured player to play an international - especially a friendly - until they’d played a game for their club. you dont have a choice in releasing as I understand How many times do top teams withdraw players only for them to play next club game? Easy to say he’s injured. |

Think it’s down to international side if they go. We say he’s injured they have right, as I understand, to insist player attends camp still to be assessed by their medical team I don’t think it’s right but suppose it’s to prevent clubs doing exactly what you have suggested when players are not injured. Look how many caps Giggs got in his career given it’s length as Fergie pulled him out all the time |

I’m no fan of him but he was going be fit some point so thinking he’s getting bit of unfair criticism, unless suggestion is had there not been international break and we had midweek game he would have still been injured but then we’re into conspiracies

Probably said this before, but I really don't get the hate aimed at Dykes.
Not his fault he got injured.
Not his fault he happened to get back to relative fitness in time for the international break.
Not his fault he got a bit of game time (which was actually probably beneficial to us in terms of his match fitness)
Not his fault he's not Harry Kane. He's a late-starting footballer, who's still developing, who's scored some useful goals, gets stuck in and does a job for the club.
Not his fault the club got caned for FFP transgression and is now run on a shoestring and couldn't afford anyone more highly rated.
FFS, anyone would think he plays for Fulham the dog abuse he gets sometimes.

What is his fault is that he doesn’t get stuck in and do a job like you say. Been said lots of times on here if he hasn’t scored he’s done nothing. He doesn’t give defenders a hard time and he doesn’t work to get himself into a game. He’s 26 and been playing since he was 17 - ok, shit Aussie stuff but he doesn’t look like he’s learned anything about how and where to play as a striker. Charlie mk2 doesn’t give us anything either, granted, but Gray has to be our first choice. |
