How easy is it the sign overseas players these days though? I know from my work that the landscape for hiring people without British passports or "settled / pre-settled" status since Brexit has changed. You need to apply to be a sponsor for overseas employees and there is a process to follow with limitations. Hull just brought on an Iranian! So must be doable😁 Not much help. Missed a sitter at the death to make it 1-1.

Stuck up for dykes but yesterday was the straw that broke the camels back. Pathetic once again. Get rid

Fucking useless.
Said wayyyyy back he only has one half decent game every 6-7
Doesn’t even have that now.
Lazy bastard too. Creates fuck all, barely fights for anything, doesn’t cajole or harass defenders and never busts a gut.
Get rid of the useless prick.

History repeating itself. How are we improving this player?

I think it’s very difficult to make a case for any players that have improved this season, very easy to say Willock but any fool can see he’s got natural talent.

I think it’s very difficult to make a case for any players that have improved this season, very easy to say Willock but any fool can see he’s got natural talent. So that’s a massive fail for our management and coaching staff - their remit is to improve players for profit. And jury is still out on overall improvement as we are dropping like a stone at the moment. Improvement has to include consistency. All managers talk about consistency.

Thinking about it, all our players lack consistency except Willock. And I suppose Chair - consistent performer but certainly hasn’t improved distribution nor shooting. Oh, and Dykes. Consistently poor.

It was the introduction of Stefan J and CA that helped the other players. Amos is a prime excample of a player whose has stalled under Warburton.

I honestly believe what Dykes needs is either a good sports psychologist, a fucking good rollicking or perhaps a bit of both.
We saw against Reading how devastating he can be at this level when he puts his mind to it. Problem is that it very rarely happens.
I will add that our style of play really doesn't suit him. Wrong sort of striker to be playing through balls and intricate balls to feet to. Would probably show a bit more on a regular basis in a side that plays a more direct style of football.

Ability would help too. You either have that or you don’t I’m afraid he lacks it

So how do you explain the odd game like Reading Westy? Looked more than good enough that day. I've seen him play like that a few times for Scotland too.

I dunno Rabbit. I genuinely believe Dykes has all the attributes, he just needs to be trained how to piece it all together.
I think I've heard Les Ferdinand speak about something similar with regards to his career prior to his loan spell to Fenerbache. Not that I'm suggesting for a second that Dykes has the ability to be in the same league as Les.
I always felt the same about Emile Heskey. There was a world class striker lurking in there somewhere. He just very rarely showed it.

Fair enough mate. I'm just a believer that if a player has it in his locker to play like that one week, he probably has the ability to play like that every week. It's a case of working out how to bring it out of him.

How about wrongly utilised? SLow build up and not enough balls to run onto (i don't mean hitting it long and hope for the best). Think he holds it up better than Dykes and is good at finishing like Austin. Maybe doesn't have the work rate of Dykes which is why he doesn't play (at a guess). Dyke's work rate is the part of his game he receives the most amount of criticism for on here.

Can’t agree about Dykes’ work rate sponge, runs around but CBs get an easy afternoon. He needs to work a few to call it work rate.

What's all this talk of Lyndon Dykes' work rate? One of the laziest strikers I've ever seen at Loftus Road.
Mad how differently some people view the game!

Plenty fans hear sound bites then believe it. Nick London says Lyndon is working hard and they fall for it
Lazy as they come absolutely zero effort levels off the ball
Good at waving his arms encouraging others to close down

Just googled it. Apparently he actually gets 8 grand a week. Imagine nicking over 400 grand a year for being as shit at your job as he is.
No wonder the prick always looks happy!
