thought he lead the line well today. he wasn't involved in every little facet nor did he really make a nuisance of himself to their defence but whenever he did get involved something ended up happening. even without the goal he had a very good game, he pressed well, linked play and drew defenders to him. if he can play like this every game then i'd be very happy! i'd love nothing more than for him to show us all up If he does Corbs, it’ll be down to Beale. He’s been here long enough to have improved so it will put a big question mark over Warburton and Co. What was different yesterday was, a couple of times, when he went for a ball Chair and Willock had gone past him - that never happened under Warburton. |

He closed down, ran, won almost all his headers, got involved, took shots and scored!!
It’s really that simple. He’s so capable when he applies himself.
Arguably our best player yesterday along with Willock.

Not aimed at you btw. It’s just keeping some perspective - a handful of slightly better performances during the time he’s been here is still very poor. Does seem Beale has had some positive influence. Let’s see if it continues. |

Don’t think we can say Beale has had positive influence on him after one game Al as he was wank previous week. He had handful of good games under Warburton followed by long periods of being ineffective
If he’s playing well 7 out of 10 games (not necessarily meaning goals more overall contribution) then there is an effect from manager if not it’s more of the same

I thought Dykes had a decent game namely because he put more of an honest effort in, strangely enough I was a little disappointed in MB comments about him being perhaps too honest, I want to see that type of effort from him in every game, then when he’s spent use Bonne or another striker.
As a side note I finally saw on Saturday what Hal has mentioned previously about Dykes could be an asset in DMF..

All the comments I’ve read about him relate to the first half. Second half was same old Dykes. Doing it for 90 has to be the starting point.

At Blackburn he was good for 20 mins, so yesterday was progress on that 😂 All jokes aside though, I do think much of his issues are down to coaching, and under Beale & co the early signs point to improving over Warbs & co. So let's see. (Same of course applies to other squad members). |

Has ZERO ability to hold the ball up which limits our attacking options to predictable runs past him. And if the defence needs an out ball it just comes straight back.
