he never scored but he was involved for 90mins and what a difference it makes. I'm reluctant to describe it as a true number 10 role, but a different player under Marti, dare we say it?

NEVER a 10 because he can’t go past anyone with ball at his feet but if Marti can get him to hold it and pass it like he did a couple of times Saturday then he will be contributing more than he’s done for three years.

In fairness to Dykes the option of Armstrong running onto his headed flick ons looked to have prompted Dykes to win the vast majority of his aerial duels yesterday..
It also looked like Millwall gave him more time and space to play in so his first touch wasn’t so important.

Credit where it's due, donkey did the business yesterday. Top performance by him, hope he keeps it up.

Thought he was outstanding yesterday. He hasn’t got a strikers instinct for example he wouldn’t have got the rebound or anticipated the follow in for the 2nd goal. He was excellent in the withdrawn role though and maybe a little less pressure on him might do him some good. No issues whatsoever with him with performances like that

Yes it was a good touch and turn, but look at how much time and space he had, strikers don’t get that in the penalty area.

There’s a danger here of a typical QPR fan reaction - put up with three years of dross, new manager cleverly uses the squad slightly differently and it suits one player for a couple of games and suddenly we’ve got a cracking player on our hands. Let’s hope it lasts but let’s also wait to see how much he can improve. Love the nickname though.

Agree.
Done really well Saturday and looked more rounded in the position he was playing. Less pressure on him as well not relying on him for a goal but as mentioned he has form for turning up once and then disappearing for eight games in a row, so I won’t hold my breath.

Good
And as for Dykes, you should be utterly embarrassed agreeing to give your name and image to that tweet. What exactly is there to celebrate about it?

Seen him up close on occasions, absolutely loves himself. Doesn't lack confidence despite how utterly shit he is.

...although expect they'll just class them as a fringe minority lol I absolutely cannot fathom that no one with a brain watches his performances and thinks he's nothing but shit. It can't be possible. If they do they must be new to football. He does virtually nothing right. Literally fuck all.
