So in summary, the worst QPR striker of all time, when you factor in the total appearances he's made for the club, which I suppose you have to do in terms of context. think that's the fair assessment and what many including myself preach when saying why he's our worst ever striker. for sure been worse players than dykes up top, you could name any number of failed youth players who played a game or two before fading into non league as a worse striker than dykes. we all know what we've seen with dykes and it's been dreadful. 37 goals in 166 games according to wikipedia so yes, 1 in 4 but a lot of those have come from penalties and purple patches. didn't he score 7 in 9 at one stage? if so then that's a fifth of his entire goal tally in a handful of games. zero consistency, zero impact on games, unreliable and a picnic for any second rate defender in the league. compare dykes to strikers with similar rates like say, steve morrison formerly of millwall and it's night and day. morrison had far more to his game than dykes and was a bit of a terror up top despite his poor record. heck, look at frey this season, similar player to dykes yet far more involved and problematic for defenders even if he does look like bambi on ice when he plays. so in conclusion if i had to choose between getting rid of dykes and going into the season with 2 strikers or keeping dykes for depth i would go for 2 strikers every time and rely on the academy to provide depth. dykes just isn't an option for me nor should he be an option as his inconsistency and ineptitude holds the side back and the sooner he goes the better.

Stats are funny aren't they? Had no idea Gray was that good for us. Who knew that Hugell who missed so many sitters was actually more prolific than Nakki, who most of us really liked? Armstrong's stats terrible but he was mainly used as a sub. You really need goals per minute to be meaningful.

He's flipped that kid's head so hard its vibrations have caused a tear in the time/space continuum.

Those tattoos and dreds don't come cheap. Or the goal-line misses. Exactly. Clearly the reason he's apparently negotiated a contract to make him the highest paid player in League One... Must have blinding agent...

Unbelievable.
Good luck to him personally as somehow he's managed to make himself a millionaire and more through being exceptionally ordinary in footballing standards.

Hate to say it, but I find myself checking the bcfc twatter account at least every hour, in the hope to finally see official confirmation of his departure.

He's clearly not a bad apple as both our and Scotland's managers have wanted to keep him around the team - probably because of his positive impact at least outside the pitch. That's why I have avoided commenting too negatively on him. I guess I'm in the minority.

Someone commented on the QPR twitter post: we'll miss you Dykesy. I was thinking, he'll miss us too. Because, well, missing.... it's what he does.
