Board are always optimistic of playoffs I think even when it's not likely. Can see 2 in today with money freed up by BFG, Wells and Scowen.

Leistner isn't great anyway. Maybe Ball will drop back into centre back if needed and with Masterson breaking through I think we are okay for losing Toni. Good luck to him but not going to lose sleep over him going. He's an expensive back up.

Simple answer Alan, the manager doesn't like Leistner, never has. I'd heard rumours of the 2 of them having a bust up before the season even started. That makes sense as he only recalled him when injuries gave him no choice.

if figures are to be believed mate rightly so Why? Widely accepted that our defending is shit so get rid of the guy who is the most reliable. There is a false economy argument here - what cost if we drop? I doubt we will, but by no means certain yet, so why not wait until the end if the season? we can’t afford him plus he’s clearly not going to be getting a game going forwards. He would be 5th choice and I’m a BFG fan. Not sure you can knowingly have that amount of dough being collected on the bench

Surely we can find strikers for 15k a week in the future that will not be nicked back mid season. my feeling is we should not be paying anyone 15k a week mate unless there different gear in QPR terms I agree to an extent but Hughill and Wells who are on almost identical wages have banged in the goals for us. I’d say these have been justified.

I promise you that Bristol will regret that signing in the 3rd year of his expensive contract! I thought Bristol C is supposed to be a well run club who've made substantial profits from player sales in recent years, and operate well within P&S rules. Who's to say the Wells contract isn't well within their budget and projection.

Who's to say the Wells contract isn't well within their budget and projection. They certainly have been run well in recent years mate. I can't help but feel that this signing is a gamble for them though. Bring in someone they think can get them 10-15 goals in the remainder of the season in that hope it's enough to get them up. Wells was apparently on something like 30-35k a week at Burnley. Even if he's taken a hit on that and/or Burnley have paid him off to walk away from his last 6 months on Premier League money, I can't see he would be earning anything less than 20k a week. All speculation of course but however you dress this one up, it's an expensive signing for a Championship club. And they have contracted him until he's 33. As such, they are unlikely to ever get a penny back for him.

As far as football and QPR are concerned this is one of the saddest days I can recall. Wells was special, and a striker I will miss immensly..

It's just SO sod's law that we're playing them tomorrow. 😐 It's got an air of inevitability about it, hasn't it? I'm not watching tomorrow. I'm going to Stormers vs Hurricanes in the Super Rugby then will be finding a pub for Scotland vs Ireland in the 6 Nations. It's that time of year for me when rugby takes priority over QPR.

Enjoy mate and probably a good move. I wouldn't check the score until FT if I were you...and just hope for a pleasant surprise 😎

But wasn't getting picked or was always subbed. MW learnt eventually, as he did with BFG.

Yeah, it was obvious that the club couldn't wait to get shot of him at the first opportunity. Yeah we could totally afford him and his wages. We just thought fuck it, he ain't that good, we don't need him.

Wish I was as easily pleased as you two. Trust me, no one is pleased about it. But to say we let him go is woefully inaccurate.

Dunno about raving about him Alan, but Hogan is a player that Warburton brought through at Brentford. He had 18 months there (albeit the latter part after Warburton had moved on) where he was banging in goals right left and centre. His career has taken a bit of a nosedive since leaving Brentford, but if he could recreate his form of 2015-2017 he would be a force at this level! We bought Washington after one good season. The fact he's hardly scored/been picked since Brentford is a worry for me. two in two for blues Just saying 😁
