Good pairing but we'll never be able to afford both. It is feasible that we will sign Wells after his contract expires but with little Smyth available next season we may not need Hugill and will adapt our style (again) to accommodate small, pacy forwards. |

Shame, but at least they didn´t wait till Friday. If he is too expensive for us, i.e. they have an offer we can´t match, then there is not that much we can do really.

I read the statement the club put out as a message to nakhi - hang tight for six months and we'll sign you up once out of contract.
No way we stump up the millions Burnley will be wanting this month.

I'm sure it was a tough situation for Nakhi. At the end of the day though Burnley paid good money to sign Wells, and they have continued to pay a good chunk of his salary whilst he's been playing for us. If they wan't to cash in this window then we can't have too many complaints. I'm sure we will now get a deal done either for Lawrence Shankland or for a striker to come in on loan. Failing that I believe we are able to recall Paul Smyth and/or Aramide Oteh. |
