Something has happened over last night and this morning that has shocked and saddened me , but in the cold light it is unsurprising .
I am a very occasional poster on the facebook group ,Optimistic QPR Supporters , its a very large group about 8000 members . There was a thread started yesterday about a report in the Guardian covering an interview with Anton Ferdinand covering the John Terry , Black Cxnt incident .
Now this subject will allways raise passions ,QPR or Chelsea ,non Racist and Racist .
You all know me my views fall to the Left of centre ,but i like to think i am a realist .
So this thread has started , and a couple of posts in a Rangers fan has given his view that , basically it happened in the heat of the match , Terry has opologised and we should draw a line in the sand under it now , stop going on about it and things get said in the a highly intense local derby , he went at it in quite an aggressive way ,but at no point did he come out with any racist rhetoric or say he actually agreed with Terrys ,Black Cxnt comment .
Personally i don`t agree with his view , and think if you are prepared to use the expression Black Cxnt you are deep down a racist twat ,no matter which way you dress it up !
But just because i have different opinion to this fella dosn`t mean i wan`t to shut down and take away his right to an opinion .
As soon as his comment was made ,someone came on and wanted admin to delete his post .
I came on and said although i dont agree with him ,he has every right to say it
Some collossal cock smoker from Sweden came on, told admin to delete the post and ban the poster and told me i was an idiot and to fuck off because its racist !
I said its freedom of speech ,he hasnt actually said anything racist but i did call the swede a fucking tit to be fair !
Someone else waded in about free speech , made some good points and the original person defended himself in a comedy gold put down to the Swedish twat !

Now here is the thing ,
because a couple of people got offended by this fellas opinion ,admin deleted his post ,though it was controversial , it certainly wasnt racist , and was relavent to the QPR related topic .
This to me is typical of the mindset that is plagueing our country , I dont agree with your opinion so i will cancel your right to say it . It isn`t poitically correct ,i`m offended , so your opinion should be shut down and ignored !
This morning i asked admin why they deleted his post , and i got told that I was a racist ,with extremist views !
Well ,this was a shock to me , and my mixed race wife and kids ! Obviously i asked what racist or extremist views i`d said and they couldn`t answer , because i hadn`t ,i had just defended this fellow Rangers fans right to an opinion ( one i stated numerous times i didn`t actually agree with ! ), they then said it was now non QPR related and closed the thread down !!
The point i`m trying to make is this place is a sanctuary to free ( non threatening and racist ) speech ,and this incident would never have happened on here ! Ive left out loads of last nights thread but it is shocking really ,in this day and age how the thought police are alive and well !
If youve made it this far ,thanks for reading ,i know i`ve gone on ,but we need to appreciate the good thing we have here !

Lol,pro boards thought I was racist because I joked and put Aryan,and Serbs and jocks in a thread.personally don't give a toss where you from and most of year I'm black from either Sun on dirt.I'm not on Facebook as its full of cocks whom I didn't care for when younger and well still don't.

I think it's dangerous to suppress free speech. Even the most God like saintly soul has said something unpalatable. Most people in life have called mate a gypo,flid,poof etc. Yes people speak without thinking and sometimes in heat of moment. I can't honestly say it bothers me,but since I not gay ,name or disabled I don't know how it feels. Also the people that seem to be most offended are also neither of said above. |

Joined that group a while ago and left after a few days. Just found it negative and repetitive which given its name beggers belief. I do really despair of social media sometimes. For all the good it can do it really opens up a platform for absolute helmets to ram opinions based on absolute nothing down others throats. I’m actually considering ditching all forms of social media after a pal of mine went a month off it and was visibly happier and far less stressed. I actually vaguely remember having trouble with the admins on that group. I challenged someone’s opinion when they were slating the team after they’d won and was contacted saying my attitude was inflammatory. Couldn’t make it up. As far as the whole racism thing goes it’s followed other parts of society where people get offended at the slightest comment or word. I actually genuinely feel sorry for youngsters growing up in these times, society is absolutely fucked |

It wasn't even clear if the post was detected (and warning issued) by an AI or a human being, such are the strange times we're presently living through. Either way, even here, it seems we have to be somewhat careful, although nowhere near to the same extent as on Anti-Social-Media. Good thread Vesps and you have my every empathy mate. I had a quick read of the thread though original post is now gone. The chap who runs the thread said you were racist because you used word “woke” and “cancel culture”. He then completely ignores fact that you were called “cunt”. Think it’s a group best avoiding. They also seem to only share guardian articles. I was thinking of posting a response to the guy but life’s too short.

Try not to talk politics on here- apart from ranting about kneeling (solved that by switching on the feed one minute in LOL...)- and am not on any other site. Friendly folk and very informed people on here. Maybe miss seeing the odd fight, which could be fun on the other place.

its just the fact ,they shut this other fellas point of view down and deleted it .
The person who initially demanded the post get deleted , had the cheek to say ,that there is no reasoning with people like them ! ( Them being the offending poster and me ! Like we had the same point of view ! ) He didnt see the irony ,of demanding the post got deleted and not attempting to reason or debate !
To be honest even if he was being racist ( which he wasn`t ) i`d prefer it to be left up ,and other people debate the subject and put him in his place .
I started a new thread ,just saying the Admin/ Owner of the site wasn`t fit to run the group , and just to reiterate how i`d not said anything racist and asking for free speech isn`t an extremist view , then i fucked off and left the group ! So i probably got slated after that or the whole thing got deleted , either way they can stick their group are their arse .

I don't think racism really exsists. People just naturally think they are above others and also a very jealous breed. Take disability,most people ave some imperfections. Colour is just an excuse to bully belittle. And as for homosexuality I read somewhere that a high % of women have dabbled or actively thought of participating.I imagine the male spieces are not far off too.
