On the face of it, I couldn't agree more. The downside is the risk of what happened to the promotion side of 2010-11 where only Adel of the side was given a pay rise, from £27k to £40k I was told but can't confirm, but players like Mackie, Hill & Derry kicked up such a fuss it started the big divide in the dressing room and ended up with Derry & Mackie being shipped out. One of the things I love about the current side is that they all look like a cohesive and happy bunch to be playing together. That isn't something you can say very often about many teams, and not just at QPR. heard exactly the same But I’m not talking huge money just enough to add a year or two to his contract to protect ourselves Hopefully, if we can reach the end of the season without breaking this side up then we will have more money to play with as the 2017-18 spending drops off the FFP P&S accountability. This should allow us to pay more people an average Championship wage than is currently possible which would have the dual effect of keeping the "star" players happy and provide inspiration to those coming through the ranks that their efforts will be financially rewarded as well as appreciated. I can't help but think that when Wells, Eze, Chair & BOS are all on the pitch together we look unstoppable. As soon as one of them isn't on the pitch it seems to break the magic. It's like they have been playing together since they were kids.

The terms of the fine are already agreed

The club have a one year option on his contract. Is this confirmed somewhere? AFAIK it is a standard contract for all the young players signing professional contracts, albeit BOS was already a pro player when he joined.

If Eze is worth 20m+ then Bright is worth 15m+ IMO. Absolutely extraordinary talent. Some of the skills he's displayed in matches have been jaw-dropping, the way he can beat players, somehow get out of tight areas where he's surrounded; his pace; his body strength; and now he's adding goals to his game, and great ones at that (eg yesterday's). Yes he still has areas to his game that need work but all the ingredients are there to make it to the highest level.

Need get his contract situation sorted.
I know we've got the extra year option but that will still leave us under pressure to sell this summer if we want any sort of fee

BOS is like a new player over the last 3 or 4 months. Not the finished article yet though. Hope to see the same level of improvement from Chair next season.

He going Spuds with Eze in the summer No chance He's not a big enough talent to make that step up before spending a year or two at another stepping stone club (eg lower half prem team/team challenging at top of champ)

Les loves to deal with Mr.Levy as his dream job is DOF at Spuds Ryan Ssengyong being an example of a young player and Jack Clarke being another

Listened to Les and Chris Ramsey on podcast yesterday. Les said BOS won’t be leaving on a free as club are entitled to compensation. What sort of money is Les expecting as compensation or is this a tactic to put off clubs sniffing around a free transfer target ? BOS got to be worth £7m to £10m even in football recession isn’t he ?

Just had a look at Danny Ings to Liverpool..it was a record fee for a tribunal of £6.5m up front with extra £1.5 in performance related bonuses. Article don’t explain how they came to figure though.

I think a lot of what is going on right now is posturing. A lot of clubs will be looking to take advantage of the situation and snap up players from smaller club for a fraction of what they would have been worth pre-Covid. What you are seeing from Les, Hoos etc. is a bit of muscle flexing. Trying to give the impression that we don't need to sell and we'll want top dollar for our prized assets. The reality is probably somewhere in the middle. i.e. We probably don't need to sell as desperately as some other clubs, be we probably are also aware that the transfer market isn't what it was and we most likely can't expect a huge fee for BOS if (as it appears) he is trying to run his contract down. I'd probably expect an offer of 3 or 4 million quid would be enough to get him at the end of this season.

How is a player running his contract down Les' fault? Surely that would be Hoos' fault anyway.

It's no ones fault tbh.
If a player is refusing to sign a new contract even if it's offered to him 100 times with better terms each time there isn't anything more you can do.
I'd imagine agents are at work here and we're not exactly flush at the moment so who's knows maybe the terms are poor.

Didn't we get BOS on the cheap as he'd run his contract at Blackpool down to the final 12 months? Maybe this is just what he does? Can't blame him really. If I was a professional footballer I'd probably do the same. Bound to be easier to negotiate a decent sign-on fee if there is a smaller transfer fee involved.
