Thanks for the invite but to paraphrase Gwenth Paltrow, I'm already a long way down the line of my de-coupling from QPR with an exit plan already in place. I'm happy moaning on here like the dinosaur I am but not daft. My views are in the minority and are unrealistic in the modern era for the most part and that's before you take into account the fact that for my vision of QPR to materialise would take 25 years of patience or dropping down the pyramid system... That doesn't mean that I don't reserve the right to moan like fuck about the death of the real QPR and mock people who wouldn't have saved QPR in 1987 if we had been relying on them....What, in your opinion, happened in 1987 to cause "the death of the real QPR"? I'd be interested to know in the context of the above thread on the history of our owners. Rough timeline as follows, to the best of my understanding: 1967-90: Jim Gregory 1990-91: David Bulstrode 1991-94: Richard Thompson 1994-01: Chris Wright 2001-05: Bill Power consortium 2005-07: Gianni Paladini 2007-11: Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone 2011-24: Tony Fernandes, Lakshmi Mittal, Kamarudin Meranun, Ruben Gnanalingam, Richard Reilly We saved QPR in 1987 because we had fans like the Kingham Brothers, Victor and all those who formed the LSA. The first chink in the armour was Thompson caving in to fans' demands that we spend all the Les money going against everything which had done for nearly 30 years and then the slow death started when Thompson left and was complete when the rich boys took over and the final nail being the change of badge. Many have tried to pretend that it's still the same QPR as it was but it's a tribute act now.

Other than a couple of short periods in our history and the Gregory era,i think this club has been run really poorly.
A little like a fairly rich mans toy,and just playing at running it and not keeping up with modern methods ticketing, scouting, maintenance, recruitment, administration and IT.
In other words always playing catchup especially the last ten to 12 years.

Either way, I still don't think it was a mistake of such magnitude that it tarnishes his whole period as Chairman.

I remember A Kick Up The Rs had a running feature called Bul-dozer Watch. Wasnt he the first to see LR as prime real estate?

It was his plan but Gregory sold it to him knowing what the plan was and endorsing it too. For those who may not know, both Loftus Road and Craven Cottage were to be sold and Fulham Park Rangers were to groundshare with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. How long it would have taken for FPR and Chelsea to merge and have to move after Stamford Bridge being sold would be pure conjecture but there was an air if inevitability about it.

Also Gregory, of course, had a history with us leaving Loftus Road and wanted to buy Griffin Park for us 👍

No we just got relgated..lol We got relegated twice under Gregory but he's still the greatest we ever had 👍 Not talking about Jim Gregory. Thompson gave the money to Wilkins and he promptly fucked it up buying Zelic,Hateley(one leg) and other crap. As a result we got relegated from the top division. Please stop diverting the case im makjng. Thompson was shocking end of.

The story I heard was that the bridge and the cottage were being redeveloped as Loftus Road was not considered that desirable back in the 80s
