pretty poor performance. we weren't dreadful but we were certainly uninspired, toothless and devoid of ideas. defensively i think we're getting better and for the most part we defend well. there are glaring issues all over the park though. kane can't cross, niko is below par, willock isn't a CM, ball looks nervous and passes sideways or backwards too much, chair has awful delivery and poor vision and dykes is too easy for defenders. warbs is a frustrating manager because he's tactically devoid of ideas in a match. nothing worked out for us from start to finish and derby likely enjoyed a good training session today for their defence and midfield as thats the standard we set. 352 has worked but for christ sakes change things up a bit around the 60th minute mark at the latest. its not hard to see. 2 steps forward, 1 step back, and today was a step back. It highlights the lack of depth in the squad, especially in central midfield. And to be fair that’s 2 stonewall penalties in 2 games not given. In all honesty though, I think an experienced attacking midfield centre needs to be brought into the club during the summer, someone who will have the same influence Charlie has had on the strikers.

I think most QPR supporters would like to see another left full back, wing back at the club, someone who will take Niko’s place and force him to compete and up his game if he wants on the pitch, hopefully that will happen in the summer and Wallace can go then too, But the problem for me was the midfielder holding onto the ball too long and being dispossessed. I’m not saying his solely to blame for the goal. Goals are very rarely one players fault. I’m just saying that as a young defender, the very least I expect is busting a gut to get back to stop an attack. If you don’t have that drive, it’s very worrying I think some competition from an experienced pacy full-back / wing back would do him the world of good. Same for Chair and Willock, they need a good experienced attacking midfielder to gauge themselves against

I wonder how safe Warburton`s job is now. Safe as houses, until it's to late. 23 points needed

I wonder how safe Warburton`s job is now. Safe as houses, until it's to late. 23 points needed With a decent central midfielder, QPR will be safe. Today was the poorest performance from the team in 4 or 5 games and you still deserved a point. And That’s with no one other than a defensive midfielder in the middle of the park. The team has been unlucky with injuries to both Carroll and Amos, fullbacks / wingbacks need strengthened but I think that can wait until the summer.

Go with a small squad sooner or later it catches up with you.
Add to this Suspensions over the course of a season, you are skating on thin ice.
Add a poor manager and we are in the shit

Add a poor manager and we are in the shit I totally agree, there’s some players in the squad that need let go and other areas that need strengthened in both quality and quantity. The team needs a central midfielder before the window closes. I was also wondering why there is still no sign of Jordy on the bench today, how long does he need to get fit?

But why let Adomah sit on the bench? He can cross and we desperatly need good crosses. Adomah can play more centrally also. Again the same question: Why not use the full squad?

It’s a central midfielder that’s really needed. Today was the poorest performance in a while, the biggest problem is the void left by Tom Carroll. With him missing and no suitable replacement you’ve had Willock and Chair alternatively dropping into the midfield to fill the gap and they both aren’t as good as Carroll at that job. In saying that the team have won against Cardiff and I feel deserved a point today so a not the end of the world, but surely the manager and board must realise they need someone in before the window shuts.

From the limited videos I have seen he looks a combative M/F player not so much creative ?

It’s not so much a “creative midfielder” that’s needed, Chair or Willock fills that position, what’s needed is a midfielder who through his possession and passing controls the tempo of the team/game, that’s what Carroll was doing for the team, it’s not really “creative”, you want Chair to be doing that, for the most part. Carroll was the metronome, the heartbeat who set the tempo for the rest of the team

stefan johansen is quality. seen him play many a time as my dad is a fulham fan. great passer of the ball, bit like tom carrol but better and more forward thinking.

Hard to argue but also glad he hasn't gone backwards to 451 Worked well that Alan didn't it mate Hindsight Gen. I was glad he was starting with something that has looked like improvement - and why not? - but, like many others have pointed out, he lacks the ability to change it when we've been worked out. Chasing the game we didn't need three centre halves for example.

Not sure we should be turning our nose up at him given the midfielders we have. One thing that has become more apparent is that we do have some pretty poor players and I’m not sure another manager will do better. Austin makes a big difference. Dickie and Dieng are our genuine quality players. With BOS that would be good enough to stay up. With Amos and Carroll and BOS maybe mid table. We need some quality in central midfield and we need a left back.

He is not an Amos or Carroll in way he plays. He’s limited as is Kane. But one thing I cannot fault them for is their effort on the pitch and most importantly (because effort should be a given), they try to influence the game in a positive way.

I’d still keep Ball in the squad even if Amos replaces him in the team, he is decent cover for injuries/suspensions

So you effectively play 352.

We are not going to win many games with no ball playing midfielders. I remember in season we went up from league 1, we started well but then limitations of Palmer in central mid became apparent. It took Holloway far too long but eventually Johnson played and we looked much better and rest is history.
