Would have thought our captain would have realised this and stepped into M/F though Alan..that’s what captains do You can chase the game with 3 centre halves if you’re wing backs are half decent. So you effectively play 352. Problem is our W/Bs are poor James. i can understand the importance and flexibility of playing 3 C/Bs but today was not the day..Against better teams I see the reasons to play it. M/W out thought himself judging by his pre match comments on what system Derby were expected to be playing.

Yes, but they're not James, that's why it's his job to think it through not just carry on regardless until he can make the same old excuses in the post match interview. To be fair QPR totally dominated the 2nd half, the Derby keeper made some good saves, a stonewall penalty wasn’t given, a real good opportunity from close range was fluffed. I certainly think QPR were good enough for a point today, even with the shortcomings throughout the team. There’s just a hole in midfield that needs filling and I think the performances, results will begin to improve again and some of the imbalances within the team today will work themselves out.

Stefan Johansen has been linked. Maybe he is the answer.. I don`t know really. Have you not seen Johansen playing for Norway Shania ? From the limited videos I have seen he looks a combative M/F player not so much creative ? I have seen him play regularly for Norway. He is a very good passer of the ball (long, short and crosses) and reads the game quite well. My worry is that his speed is not what it used to be, but he should be able to put players under pressure yes! He is indeed combative.

One positive for me was Bettache finally getting some game time.
I at least saw him trying to inject some tempo by giving some short passes to players then make space for himself looking for the return but some of his teammates did not return the favour.
He also won one or two tackles, could he not be played as a temporary L/W/B..he can’t be any worse than Nico at the moment.
I’m not saying he’s the new Don Masson but his little cameos look promising.

Captain can chat manager and make suggestion but on thin ice if they have huddle and change managers game plan

Saying that not an easy game to come into where side have never got into it and are behind We do have some potentially good players for two or three years time (bettache, Kelman etc) but their wasting their time sat on the bench. They should be out playing and learning and probably would be if squad was not so thin. At least Masterson has gone out now but three four months too late If we’re being honest Kelman, bettache, Kakay none of them are going come off the bench and change a game and make a difference like you want a sub to do. They’re are too green Kelman has had the chances when he’s been on to impact and not taken them, that’s not to say he won’t be decent down the line nor the others but there not ready for the here and now and it’s the here and now that matters Weakest squad I think I can ever remember following Rangers and that includes admin period

Agree we have a very weak squad but that's all the more reason why MW should be stepping up the work with them. You jump on me because I don't rate him but tell me this... Why does he put up with endless shit free kicks and corners? Why do we make the same basic mistakes week in week out like not picking up runners or stupid fouls just outside our penalty area when a forward falls over because our defender is too close? Why don't we knock someone over in their own half when a break is on instead of waiting until they get into ours? Why do we lose out at throw ins all the time? These are things to drill that don't rely on skills just discipline and he would get more out of the poor squad. I'm not writing Bettache off after half a game and while it's true Kelman could have 3 goals already I'd like to see him start a game before deciding he's not good enough. You say I'm negative - MW is the negative one always bemoaning our luck and telling them they're tired.

Understand your points on our younger players West Acton but I would be selecting the likes Kakay and Bettache to start games right now as the players in possession of the shirts have been poor.
Kelman has missed a couple of chances but at least he getting in the right areas and we need a Striker on the bench.

I say this a bit tongue in cheek but maybe our entire first team squad might all be better off going out on loan as at least they might be coached better.
How many times have we seen comments about our crosses being so poor.and passing so slow and ponderous.
Why do quite a few players appear not be match fit I.e not being able to last 90mins
I’m fully expecting MW this week to say we could not train due to the snow.

Derby, who had just beaten Bournemouth don't forget, had done their homework. We've started games really well lately but Derby stopped us doing that by simply standing off our back three and crowding midfield. We did nothing to counter that. That's management not player skills.

And it's far from the first time we have seen him tactically exposed IN SPITE OF our squad's limitations, so that can't keep being brought up as an excuse for him.

Rooney maybe a rookie manager but was a very tactically aware player who played under some excellent coaches/managers during career. Think Rooney could become a very good manager in the future.

No, wasn't me Stan but it's Schteeve making the difference. Rooney is work in progress but I reckon he'll make it.
