He's got another year to run on his contract, but if he can no longer play for 90 mins (which appears to be the case) then he becomes a liability. So are we not better off getting rid in the summer? who'd take him?according to a few sites he's on anywhere between 10-13k a week. he's certainly not worth that A decision to be made in the summer. 600k to pay him off and bring in someone who can regularly play for 90 minutes...

Does make me wonder how he's gone downhill so fast this season. Seems like not long ago he was pulling the strings in midfield.

I don't like his attitude. Piss poor example as a club captain for me. Never forgiven him for soaking up applause from the away end when he was subbed and losing 1-0 at home to Fulham. I'll be glad to see the back of the overpaid prick.

Petter Vaagan Moen and now him. I wish Erik Thorstvedt and Gunnar Halle had said yes to playing for us instead...

Petter Vaagan Moen and now him. I wish Erik Thorstvedt and Gunnar Halle had said yes to playing for us instead... It wasn't all bad Shania. He had a good first season for us and showed a few glimpses this season. But it does appear his best days are behind him now and too many injuries catching up. No hard feelings from me and overall has been a decent servant but time to move on now.

Riddled with injuries, ageing too. Best days are behind him, wouldn't be sad to see him go at the end of the season.

is he not one of the bag eggs in conflict with Ainsworth. Like Tarbie says, in love too much with Foolham for my liking

is he not one of the bag eggs in conflict with Ainsworth. Possibly. Might be over the captaincy. Field and Martin are clearly more Ainsworth-esque captains than Johansen.

Would still prefer him over Dozzel. I think we really noticed it when he wasn't playing. Not as good as he was but I think it's noticable when he isn't playing.

Playing with ten men is better than playing Dozzell.

A lot of classy players go on into their late 30s - Modric still bossing it at 36, Pirlo went on even older. He never remotely had that kind of class or vision. Gazza did, and he was never the same after his knee injury, and Stef is a lot older than Gazza was whne he did his. Very few people come back to their highest level after that kind of injury. And he was miles off last term. Massive gamble for me. I thought he was gone back then.... I can't really see him coming back to his best now. We can't afford the luxury of someone who can't run. That simple.

Tie him up for next season with a view to a role as future coach at the club.

Big fan of Stefan and his style of play.
We saw start of season his influence and impact and I think our decline is partly down to his absence as without him we can’t really control a game.
However although a fan of his he physically does seem to have crossed a line where he now can’t stay fit for a sustained period so we need plan without him as you can’t build a side based on players you can’t rely to be on the pitch.
I think there would still be a place for him and we could get effective use out of him if we are up there challenging as someone who can come off bench with 15/20mins left to control/kill the game. But will we be up there and two would he be physically fit enough to even do that.

He's done mate. Can't see him playing much part next season.

They are all under contract. We would probably end up paying almost all their wages they are owed till the end of their contracts so you might as well keep them
