What did he wrong last night apart from the penalty? What did he do to convince MB to keep playing him? Passes. Who else in the team can pick a long range pass?

Dozzell can probably step up, but will he? That`s the question. Ps. I`m not defending Stefan just because he is a Norwegian like me. I bet you could take a better penalty😂

What did he do to convince MB to keep playing him? Passes. Who else in the team can pick a long range pass? Dozzell looks and plays like a junco partner but can very occasionally can play a defence splitting pass, still a poor player and not for me. Johansen had been very generously given a deep lying role where he doesn’t need to run but more importantly his inability to make a tackle ,block or challenge is a real weakness. How is his role in the team deemed worthy of the shirt?

Fulham saw us coming. Other clubs you mean? As if they are targeting him?

Interesting that he came over pointing at the badge and thumping his chest. I’d expect that after a shift not when you’ve come on and effectively done fuck all

Spent force.
Who would have thought after their loan spells that him and Charlie would turn out to be such a waste of wages?
In a tough spot now where we've given him the armband and he's probably our highest earner. The manager will feel obliged to play him.

With that i mind have to say that I long for the day when we attack as a team, defend as team, and thereby manages to avoid being stretched like we often do now.

Absolute shadow of the player we had on loan.
Owed us massively for that piss poor season last year and yet again he’s started as he finished that one.
Really disappointing.

As I posted in match thread SJ is like a new player.
Been brilliant the last few games and looks like the player we THOUGHT we were buying.
Influencing games and putting his stamp on things again.
More of the same please!

Looks a different player under Mick Beale mate. I honestly thought he was gonna be one of them that we rue the decision of giving him a long deal for his last 2 seasons. I think the difference is he isn't being asked to do us much running. Sits deep and links things up. Let the youngsters next to him use their legs.

Don't wanna go against the grain here chaps but thought he was quite sloppy last night.
Lots of stray, short passes. Wasn't popping the ball about as well as he has been.. BUT.. He's been absolutely fantastic this season so he earned 1 slightly off par performance.

Can definitely see an improvement in his effort/performances last few games, thought he had a very quiet game last night and was correctly subbed off.
Don’t enjoy seeing him playing deep, receiving and giving the ball back to our CBs only slows our build up play imo.

He's clearly been asked by Beale to play deeper and link things up. I wasn't sure at first, but it seems to work. Yeah, there were one or 2 stray balls in there, but I thought he played well last night pulling the strings from deep.

Nothing do Beale Tarbie he was clearly not fully fit any point of last season playing with an injury. He’s getting sharpness back and looks more like his old self.
What Beale is doing is using him smartly as he gives him 60/70 then takes him off. Good smart management
Question we keep hearing about players stats are they actually monitoring that side of pitch on laptop in real time for when make subs ?

Clearly managing injuries since the day he came to the club Westy. But surely this is why giving him a deep lying role with runners either side of him makes sense?

I understand that one central MF may need to sometimes play off our CBs to create an extra man to start moving the ball through to central MF but if the same person is doing it every time then opponents wise up. In previous games Johansen has been played further forward, last night he sat deep imo and it was too predictable.

Didn't think there was anything wrong with how set up last night mate. Worked very well in the first half. Reading adapted and we had less time on the ball 2nd half, so the Manager adapted and went 3 at the back.
Let's be honest, ref does his job with a couple of big decisions and we win that game by 3 or 4 goals. Wasn't anywhere near as close at the 2-1 scoreline suggested for me. They barely touched the ball in the first half.

MB spoke clearly post match about our CBs playing pointless balls across our back line Tarbie, SJ performance last night encouraged our CBs to do that imo. Would disagree strongly that SJ has been playing predominately deep, most games he’s been running down keepers and defenders for assists and even scoring a couple himself.

MB has been using him far more judiciously and it's working.
Last four games:
Subbed on 74 vs Reading Rested vs sheff utd Subbed on 70 at Bristol Subbed on 78 vs stoke

Subbed on 70 at Bristol Subbed on 78 vs stoke Agreed - tho think Beale was far too late on the subs last night. Stef and Sam were spent on about 60 mins, we had lost the midfield battle in the second half at that point and we needed fresh legs. Thought Amos and Dozzell sharpened us up but should have been on a good ten mins earlier
