McClaren explains sub mix-up “To be fair, if Pav had been coming off I’d have booed myself. I thought he was one of our better players,” McClaren said. “It was always our plan that Angel would play 60 minutes and then if we were 1-0 down we’d put Pav to right-back, if we were 1-0 up we’d put Darnell (Furlong) right-back. “Somehow the fourth official got the wrong number, held that up and caused confusion. Angel coming off was always the plan.” www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/mcclaren-explains-mix-up-during-qpr-defeat

Lying like that means he ought be an MP...... If he'd said he'd got it wrong I'd respect that.

I really hope the Board will sack him before the Norwich match. Yesterday`s result speaks for itself..imo.

I sit almost opposite him. I saw him panic when the boos started. Pav was halfway across the pitch when he 'changed his mind'. He always subs Smith for Pav. Then we play hoofball and rely on Freeman down the left. Having someone down the right crossing balls for a 6 4 striker seems beyond Steve's comprehension. Putting Pav RB was dumb, too. Smith for Hemid and 4231 was the only call. If Angel had then to come off replace him with Furlong. It's not rocket science, but he fails to get it. I can't understand why.

Now I've calmed down I'm more disappointed than angry, tbh. Sad would be too melodramatic. From his public persona, I like Steve. Seems a nice, unshowy guy of a type we don't see so much in football now. I was delighted when he was appointed, and hoped and wanted him to do well. But, bar Leeds at home, it's been persistently appalling since Villa away. Such a shame, but I can't see how he can stay manager. Something's got to give. He's clearly lost the fans. In three months I've only really enjoyed scoring three goals when four goals down at home..... Lol.

The fellow bottled it and is no leader in any shape or form.

Tend to agree 77, other then he never had the fans and really only kept them off his back due to purple 2/3 month period
I was not massively excited by his appointment but not suicidal at the same time. But looks like we swapped one wally for another and just as we got shot of JFH for Ollie and treaded water we have treaded water with McLaren
What’s that now four managers in a row where we have not progressed at all??
Other teams change managers and pull rabbits out the hat whereas we just stand still

Got decisions wrong from the start yesterday. How Lynch got selected ahead of BFG beggars belief

Would take another non leader in Ramsey over him right now. Once you do what he did yesterday then you are finished. Will be very happy to see him go and just waiting for him to change the starting line up 20 minutes before kick off based on twitter feedback. Only at QPR could this happen. Circus show is still alive and kicking.

So you have to question Les and his choice of managers. Personally I think the JFH one cost us massively. Look at squad he had compared to McLaren

All roads lead back to the takeover and Hughes's reign which we will be paying for in 10 to 15 years from now. These past 3 or managers have all been paying the price for mismanagement during the early TF days.

I do also agree with Rangers77. I really like Maclaren, but the results are so poor. So poor that the quality of his entourage(his fellow coaches) also has to be questioned. IMO, Derry, should be brought in to help us out in during the last part of the season.

Shania. What as a coach do you base Derry coming here? Released from Cambridge so why would he be good enough??

He knows how to organise a defence I guess, but released from Cambridge is not a plus having on your CV . Anyway, while we`re at it, who( or what) would you suggest?

I really think we should avoid any ex QPR players. Why not try an intelligent managerial signing that can help us progress. We always go for simple and brain dead option......let’s get So and so in as he knows the club and understands us. What how to lose? Not sure we want that.

100% with you James. This is what the club should be doing and should have been doing before McClaren was appointed.

Warnock, first time round, the only tried and tested manager who has come and and been a success the rest have been lazy appointments
Di Canio a name we pulled out of nowhere seemed to be a successful
Can Amit/TF unearth a gem the way other clubs do or will it be another lazy uninspiring appointment like what’s gone before

Would not trust Fernandes to boil a kettle Westy. Surely the footballing boss should be looking at teams across the continent and seeing the progression that certain teams are showing and digging into that. Look at Southampton after they realised Hughes was a mistake! They bring in hassenhuttl who likes his teams to have a go and it looks like it will pay off for them.

Di Canio a name we pulled out of nowhere seemed to be a successful Liked the way we played under him. Losing is never ideal, but for me, the biggest gripe is the manner in which we do it. I recall playing Burnley at home furing his tenure. We were ahead and lost 4-2 I think, but we were entertained at least. There’s just no evidence of a strong desire to play good football and win games these days. Hardly ever bother playing until we are behind, by which time of course, the opposition can simply concentrate on keeping things tight, knowing full well we haven’t the guile to expose those sort of tactics. I’d be amazed if he’s in charge next season, which is a shame because he’s a decent man.

He is decent man but he’s paid to manage, compare to Warnock who is not widely regarded as decent man but gets the job done
Perhaps that’s why he’s viewed as such a good number two but comes up short when ultimately in charge

A manager needs to lead and yesterday showed he cannot so needs to go. Cannot have a manager who makes decisions based on if the crowd agrees.

Today, I'm unspeakably pissed off to the core about QPR.
Grovelling in the skag needle and mongrel dog shitted gutter for too long. All under Fernandes Whose nothing but a functionary of f uck all And who continues to be feted by Many QPR Fans like the beatles worshipped at the divine feet of the maharishi yogi.
We're going down the shitpipe quicker than Franz Klammer Downhill on Ski Sunday with a kinder egg full of uncut Billy Whizz dissolving up his Arsehole.
I'm no fan of the pete beal fruit and veg stall coconut matting haired spacker Mclaren, but while Fernandes is here ruling over us like a syphilis crazed B movie 1940's hollywood Roman Emperor, we could have the ectoplasm of Cesar Luis Menotti and enzo bearzot as manager and we'd still be shitter than an East Ham boozer full of Bergen Belsen skinny Romanian malnourished strippers picking up 50p's from the bar with their cooked ham Flaps, passing round the worthington E pint pot for a quid.
Can't wait for him to finally f uck off beyond the Kuiper Belt. A catastrophe in totality.

The issue we have is no one knows exactly what goes on behind the scenes with our owners and board. That alone would dictate who we end up with next.
