You stupid b astard, McLaren. Unforgivable management of a team. Subs played straight into Watford's hands. Whatever chance we had evaporated when Eze replaced Pawel. Unforgivable choice. Unforgivable. I've lost so much respect for McLaren. I really have. I knew what he would do when Eze got ready to come on and I knew it would be s hit. It was. I'm done with him. Eze too, tbh. Wish he'd gone out on loan to Wycombe. Luxury player? Is he even that? Watford were for the taking and McLaren blew it.

It did rather ruin the game as a contest, didn’t it?
Still thought we were the better side overall and created way more opportunities.
Sadly, we wasted them all again.

Subs were crap but we outplayed a top 7 premiership team for most of the match. I actually give Steve Mc credit.

Have to agree with Awin here. For 90mins we completely outplayed and nullified them, they had what, 2 meaningful opportunities all game? Work on our finishing and we'll be fine. A little glad we're out to be honest. We can now concentrate on not being cr@p in the league.

We just lack a bit of quality. Eze was a reasonable shout to provide some, nice shop window for the lad etc etc but for me the real problem is we're AMF lite. Only Freeman looks capable of taking a couple of defenders out.
Thought we looked good on the whole defensively, but we just aren't creating enough opportunities.

They were there for the taking. Changing the shape undermined all our earlier effort. It meant we stopped competing, thereafter offered no threat, and could depend only on getting a lucky break. I knew he'd pull Pawel and put in the increasingly ineffective Eze.

Were we tearing them apart between half time and the changes? I'm not convinced. I just think we don't have the quality where you really need it, especially chasing a game (where the AMF thing really kicks in). We're not on a great run but we're not that bad.

Agree the subs never helped last night, they took the zip out our game. Cousins was bossing middle of the park and Woz was getting in over and over so don’t get taking him off and putting Cousins there. Felt like a change for the sake of a change

Looks pretty unanimous that the subs didn’t help. ☹️
But as for the overall prrformance ... 👏👏

That is the context here. He's paid to make the calls. I think on the whole there are signs that he learns from what does and doesn't work. Unlike some we've seen over the years......

Shitty subs again. Yet again! I assume the empty shirt came in because Smith was injured.... Putting Freeman on the wing was dumb. Double sub idiotic. Taking Pawel off criminal negligence. I'm glad he got stuck and it's not just me. Last fifteen mins down to ten men because the subs had been thrown away. What a plank you are, Steve.

We need to cut out silly individial errors as these mistakes mean we chase every game. Eze should either start or not be involved at all as he never seems to get up to the speed of the game when he comes on.

Given the state of us this season and being unable to strengthen in January, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt this season. But I now find myself starting to lean towards the Schteve Out way if thinking. That was a disgrace today. I said before the game I'd take a point against Stoke, but against 10 men we needed to be at least showing some attacking intent. Nothing. Nada. At least when Bright came on he showed something. The only one with the exception of maybe Freeman who came out of that with any credit. Shodipo looked lively. But the rest were a disgrace. Stoke didn't threaten at all. They were there for the taking. I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised we ballsed it up. How are we all feeling about Schteve?

Certainly not impressed with his body language on the bench. It's our job to hold our head in our hands not yours Schteve. For a 'top' coach he didn't seem to have much idea how to play against 10 men.

He was our worst player today McClaren as the game was crying out for us to stretch the game after the sending off yet we made it very easy for them by waiting until 70 odd minutes to have two out and out wide men on. 1 notable save all game is not good enough. Too slow to change things up today and left the ground with no feeling whatsoever and that is not something I can say too much this season.

From being really won over I’ve now got concerns and doubts
We remain so inconsistent, make same mistakes and look clueless since NY
See out end of season but would review then

Why drop Furlong and then bring him on and disrupt our midfield by putting Cousins at right back? Furlong was stripped to come on before Hall's red card so really do not understand the thinking. All in all very very disappointed in McClaren today and cannot defend him at all today

Just read his interview on the official site where he says "I am not sure what more we could have done". If he genuinely believes that then he needs to go as we were bloody awful today and to suggest anything else shows he has lost the plot.

I'd still have SMC over Hollowhead every day of the week.
Yes things have been grim but I think we're better than our form is showing currently and I don't think anyone else would get much more out of this squad tbh.

Didn't watch the game yesterday, but I've watched most this season.
I think we've backed ourselves into a bit of a corner this season. We've loaned out our best youngsters, leaving next to no competition for the match day squad. The risk in doing this was that players don't need to worry too much about being dropped, as for most positions there is nobody else to come in. Personally, I think that's exactly what we are seeing now. Too many players in poor form, and not enough options to switch things up.
For the record, I am an advocate of sending young players out on loan to gain experience, I just think we have sent too many out at the same time this season.
Before we are too critical of McClaren, it would be good to know if it was his decision to send all of these youngsters out. I suspect he may have had his hand forced by the board/FFP.

its only the Brentford match ( and i wasnt actually there ),first half against Brum and yesterdays game that ive seen recently ,and thought we were shit . The other matches weve been getting done ,i genuinely think ,were a little unlucky . Tarbie may have a point about the loanings out , but our hands are tied by FFP , and hopefully we will see the benefits of the loanees when they are back next season. I cant think of anyone ,better than SM who would want to come here , and i`d still take him over Ollie. For now.

what depressed me most was talking to those around me and one on the way home, it was next season they were worried about more. Steve? I'd get shot in the Summer
