Think you’d only sack him if we had a replacement. Maybe give it back to Chris Ramsey?

I’ve been a massive fan of macs but enough is enough. They clearly aren’t playing for him, it takes an eternity to change things up in my opinion he’s got to go. Absolutely disgraceful run of form since December and it’s simply not good enough. The manager will take the hit eventually but it’s the players who influence the game. They should all be ashamed to pick up their money. Have some professional pride about you for fuck sake

Don't know. Maybe our players are just not good and consistent enough. They seem to take turns being shit every other game, which means we only win, when once in a while by divine intervention or just plain coincidence, 7 or 8 of them have a good game at the same time. They are rarely consistent for even one match at a time. Take Luongo as an example. He wins the ball with a brilliant move one minute and storms up the pitch, and you are thinking, great we have a break now, only to find him fucking up the crucial pass. Similar could be said for all of them. Fucking wasters.

Camera caught him with his head in his hands BEFORE the free kick leading to the winner was taken. He knew they'd score.

No point in sacking him, we can't get anyone better. Make the fucker sort it out. He's capable. Don't know what's wrong with him.

Sacking a manager in our position is pointless, (just like keeping him!) We are a shit side with no money and no prospects for the foreseeable future. Any manager would do well to keep Rotherham down to 2 goals.

The question is Can we see him getting enough points between now and the end of the season? There is no way he should be here next season though.

Ginge. It is very frustrating watching us right now and watching a manager become more and more clueless game by game.

Does anyone truly believe that McClaren can arrest the slide?

Why not? That was the biggest pile of steaming dog poo I've witnessed in a long time.Since we're the sequence breakers and Rotherham hadn't won away since Gillingham, and not at LR for 68 years you just knew what was going to happen.Like some bizarre form of head tennis tonight, the ball spent most of the time 20 feet in the air.Hopeless stuff.Makes you think about shunning football on saturdays and whenever Sky calls it in favour of pumping out the septic tank.

Not sure about Ainsworth. For three reasons.
1. Whilst performing acceptably, not really done anything to suggest that he would be a success in this division.
2. Given it’d be a risk for us, don’t think it’s fair to expect him to leave a secure job for a potentially temporary salary increase.
3. Have nothing but great memories of Gareth. Fantastic pro, fantastic attitude and a lovely bloke. Couldn’t bear to get the hump with him and regard him as an idiot, similar to what happened with Ollie.

Beginning to think it is tbh. Got no fight in him. Nothing Nor, it seems, any balls. The post match interview is the same old same old same old. Platitudes and BS. He looks bemused. And confused. Total utter shite every game since Boxing Day. With the exception of Leeds and the first division Portsmouth. Oh and the second half when we came back from 0-4. Lol.

Hard to believe that we can travel to games in the Championship, only to be shat upon with performance after performance, of that standard. Getting fed up with consistency. 😡

Think you’d only sack him if we had a replacement. Maybe give it back to Chris Ramsey? From what I've heard on the grapevine, this is actually something that is being considered.....god help us. Ramsey is best staying where he is, a first team manager he is not! It's also worth pointing out that I'm not actually sure we can afford to sack and replace McClaren. I also suspect he'll walk in the summer anyway. As such, it wouldn't surprise me if we hang onto him and try to limp over the finishing line this season.

Man-management
We always knew that tactically, McClaren came with good pedigree as a coach. Where there have always been question marks over him are his motivational abilities, as a man-manager, which some of us also referenced at the time of his appointment.
One of his post-match comments (below) stood out to perhaps highlight this, in that he has no problem in being able to pinpoint issues and get his message across to players, but that maybe it's got to that stage in his tenure (as perhaps previously in his career) where he's now simply struggling to inspire them due to a lack of charisma or personality:
On struggling to score early goals
"We’ve talked about that tonight, we talk about that in every game. There’s the same messages, the same game-plan, the same work preparation. But that’s football, that’s why it’s so unpredictable. Everybody’s human, everybody’s up and down. But we have two many performances at the present moment that are down, and they shouldn’t be after that Leeds game."

Stan. Anyone who witnessed the last two games can see there is zero influence coming from him on matchdays. Last night showed 2 things, 1. We are a very poor team with players who we hype or overate. 2. The manager does not know how to nick a result when the team is struggling.

Tarbie right now I would have more faith in Ramsey than McClaren as the bloke looks totally lost and at times clueless.

McClaren should be dishing out some of the Fergie 'Hair Dryer' treatment right now, but I'm not sure he has that in him. We've also given ourselves a huge problem by loaning out every player who could provide some competition for places in the team right now.
As great as it is that Chair, Smyth, Oteh etc. are getting some games under their belts, how useful would it have been to have the option of bringing them on in the last couple of games?
A few players have to step up now and help us find another couple of wins. Make no mistake, if this run continues we are bang in trouble!

Tarbie right now I would have more faith in Ramsey than McClaren as the bloke looks totally lost and at times clueless. As did Ramsey for huge chunks of his last tenure. And I'm really not sure he will command the respect of the players, or too many of the fans. I'm in agreement that it really is looking like McClaren is not the man for the job. But that doesn't mean that Chris Ramsey is either.
