Slowly but surely, yeah. Couple of seasons in the top 10, building towards a playoff place, that'll do me. I just don't want to get my hopes up too much you know? nah get your hopes up lol. imo the squad we have is one of the best we've had in years and has players who're among the best in the league or even prem quality in dieng and dickies case. You're right, but if we were to go up it would still need significant investment to have a hope of surviving in the Prem. The Utd result was fantastic and gave everyone a massive boost but at the end of the day it was a pre-season friendly. This time last season I said I'd be happy with mid-table, and we massively overacheived given the piss poor first half of the season we had. This time round top 10 is good enough for me.

We have momentum from last season and as well as the loan signings becoming permanent we look to have also strengthened with additional signings and loans. Assuming Moses joins which I am very confident about we should definitely be looking at top 6.

Bingo! Absolutely no shame in being a yoyo club in the short-term if it means building towards a more secure long-term. The EPL money plus parachute payments would be invaluable towards achieving that! Also, 'hope' and 'expectation' are two very different beasts and are confused at your peril! 😅

Up down a couple of times then try and establish. Bloody a few noses while we’re up there

We're a bit short up top. Chaz's legs, Dykes hit and miss, Kelman miles off imo.
That said, keep the arse end shipshape and you're always in with a shout.
Still think we could make a top 6 slot ...........

Id like to see Kelman go onloan. Even if we have the option to bring him back early like we did with Eze a few years back. He is at the age where he needs game time to really kick on. The odd sub appearance won't help him. He isn't like Foden, where just training around these players is enough/

4-7 if we are lucky with injuries. Impossible to replace Dickie, for instance.

If he doesn't end up at Derby I will be amazed. I presume it's just a matter of time until they can sign players.

I honestly think 4th or 5th if we can keep relatively injury free.

Based on the friendlies, I don't remember too many of the top 6 last season playing with the tempo and precision we have seen in the last 2 games.

I think second personally.
Some poor teams in the league, many haven’t strengthened and some of the reward that done well last year like Swansea and Barnsley are considerably weaker.
We play great football and look a level above most teams in the league. I don’t fear anyone and think we have an extremely strong spine.
Fulham, Bournemouth, WBA, Shef Utd and us to battle for automatic imo!

I think we’ll win the league, league cup and FA cup. This season will see a correction to the world football order.

Agree WBA not so sure about The Fools or Sheff Utd. Sheff will miss their old manager.

We are the best prepared going into a season we have been since 10-11. I would like to think we could potentially get into the top 6 but a top 10 finish again should be the minimum aim.

IMO, it's bevelled in granite and onyx we will finish top ten. Could squeeze 6th if we steer clear of long term injuries. Think we will miss Sam Field Badly. Optimstic.

Can’t believe some of the talent the Fools have got but their best defence is to keep attacking. They don’t look that great at the back.

They don’t look that great at the back. they have so much depth its unreal, i'd go as far to say they have one of the best squads ever in the championship. i keep up with fulham a bit and have a bit of a soft spot for them as my dad supports them. i'd be very surprised if they didn't win the league easily tbh. looking forward to playing them though as we both play good football

The four unbeaten teams after these first five fixtures, were my preseason favourites for top four: Bournemouth, Fulham, West Brom, and of course the mighty R´s. Hope we can keep up with the others, as they have the more expensively assembled squads, but if we keep on digging in, and show the same character, not accepting defeat, I think we will make top four come end of the season.
