Rumours about Chair picking up pace, with him apparently going to Watford in a swap deal for Andre Gray. those rumours were simply because he was not in squad. They have come out and said he was Ill and should be fit for Hull To be fair they aren't going to say he's off.

10M + Andre Gray is what a poster on lFW suggested. A season too early for us to sell Chair is my opinion. He is so important to us.

The issue with Gray is he's on very big money. Watford would need to be prepared to subsidise some of his wages for that deal to happen.

Be funny if we were to get promoted and Watford and Chair didn't!

Just had a gander at Twatter and only see interest from June. £15m was the fee touted then.

i'd rather just have the 15m for chair than 10m+ andre gray. don't need gray, plus its hardly like he's been even half decent over the past few years.
with 15m in the kitty we could easily bring in a decent 10 goal a season championship striker and a replacement for chair (would love jed wallace!) and still have lots of money leftover

Guarantee you Watford wouldn't sell him for anything less than £10m.

I reckon they'd be happy just to get a chunk of that off the wage bill.

Not convinced about Gray, but if the rumours that we're interested are true, I guess Warbs has worked with him before, so more than happy with his judgement. Not sure how we'll get over wage expectations though at £70k a week - nearly 6 times our highest paid players from what I can gather.
Do not want to lose Chair though. He's improving year-on-year and could conceivably be worth £20m+ next summer. If he went this summer, I doubt we'd get even £10m.
His sales value apart, he's proved a key part of the team, so hopefully we can hang on to him and make a serious bid for promotion.

Pretty sure the Johansen and Austin signings have blown our wage structure already Loftus. Both of those guys will certainly be on way more than the 12 or 13 grand a week that our salaries topped out at last season.
I think the Andre Gray signing would need to either be a loan where we would pick up something like half his salary (very similar to the deals that brought both Wells and Hugill to Loftus Road), or done in a manner where Watford pick up a chunk of his wage for the remaining 12 months of his deal.
It certainly seems like we are going for it this year, so I wouldn't be surprised if we have 1 more relatively expensive signing in us this window.

If not, then a loan and we pay 10% or so would work for everyone. He isn't playing for Watford, so if he joins us on loan, plays well then they might actually be able to sell him.

Ramsdale to Arsenal for £20m plus add ons is gathering pace. Which means Dieng to Utd is also gathering pace. I don't want him to go but I see why he would. I think we should get £10m for him, especially as we know they'll have money.

Lot of damage was done when smithies went remember.
