The issue with Gray if he is more likely than most to score if given a chance - but if he isn't scoring he might as well not be there. The number of times he touches the ball is very low (though not as low as the sulking Lukaku - was reading that in a recent Chelsea match he touched the ball 7 times, and one of those was kick off...) I'd say Gray is our best striker and holds the ball up best. I've said before that our build up is always about going wife whereas Gray makes numerous runs in behind and doesn't get any service. Look at his goal vs Cardiff for example. Gray is our best striker at the moment for sure. OMG i sound like Redcrapp |

Gray won't be going into media anytime soon, well dull!
I would sign him (if within wages). Think he's very good and is out best striker (I know, not saying much). Still capable of 15 or so a season if actually played regularly. Rare to have a striker with a little bit of pace about him.

How about wrongly utilised? SLow build up and not enough balls to run onto (i don't mean hitting it long and hope for the best). Think he holds it up better than Dykes and is good at finishing like Austin. Maybe doesn't have the work rate of Dykes which is why he doesn't play (at a guess). |

MW is stubborn and has his favourites but he surely can't be that thick to not see what is stark staring obvious to us lot?

He is available on a free. Given his previous contract was apparently 70k a week though, I doubt he's going to come cheap. Only worth the investment if we are gonna use him a bit more than Warburton has.

The mystery is why have journalists NEVER questioned MW about it? Any worth their salt would have done. IMO this is probably the biggest unanswered question of the season, because goals change games and could have meant QPR in the playoffs and Warburton still in a job. Arguably we didn't even need another striker in Jan if he'd actually used the one we already have! |
