Gray is on 29 appearances for this season, does he have a contract clause similar to Austin. Does his contract expire at Watford this summer? Id sign him (on the right wages) in a heartbeat. Very good striker and could get 20 goals with decent service and a run of games. It was initially reported that Gray had signed with us on a permanent transfer late in last summer transfer window, but maybe Gray could not agree terms with Watford for what was left on his 1 year contract there. Maybe 30 appearances automatically earns him a new contract here and the club don’t want it to happen ?

Talk about cutting your nose to spite your face when such a decision could likely have cost the club a play-off spot. I'd like to reserve judgement and see evidence of it first though.

I thought he was a season long loan and that's it.

Fair enough. We'll go with he was only on loan so nothing about how many games played triggers anything.

Deserved the sack for this alone.

I would love for a journalist with some bollocks to actually ask him that question as it is extremely relevant considering how we ended the season and how that Scottish wanker performed.

Not a chance will he be back next season, especially with Watford coming down, but I'd love to see it.

Not a chance will he be back next season, especially with Watford coming down, but I'd love to see it. Well, his contract at watford runs out next month. No way will he come to us after the way he was treated during his loan spell here. Even though he was third choice striker, the fella ends up being our top scorer. Just goes to show how stubborn warbs is and that he has his favourites. Playing that useless cunt up front ahead of Austin and Gray warrants sacking on its own.

Preston apparently after him. 9 goals in how many games? May not do a lot more than score, but so what? People used to make the same complaint about Cilve Allen. Probably too expensive for us tho. Really odd he wasn't used more.

Then get Nicki who also on a free He didn't play for a lower mid table team so why would he be the answer for us? Also, if Austin had played like he did for us but for Bristol City and was on a free, would you want him? Both are past it.

would prefer not to have him back tbh.
he was anonymous whenever he played for most of the season. was our best striker sure but when the competition for that title is an overweight radio DJ and lyndon dykes then he was always gunna be up there.

Haven't seen other clubs and who they are releasing yet to know all the freebies around. I am sure that there must be a player or 2 in the Dutch league for example that has scored a number of goals who would fancy a try in England.

Surprised at some of the negative comments. Personally I'd have him in a heartbeat if we could afford him. Very good striker at this level. Play him every week and you're basically guaranteed 20+ goals.
Unfortunately, I suspect he'll go where he can get the most money, which won't be Loftus Road.

Has kids now so might want to stay around London. He's rich and so is his girlfriend so money might not be a factor so much now.

Fair points Parr. But you don't end up warming the bench at Watford on 70k a week unless you place money quite high up your list of priorities.
The fact he doesn't need the money doesn't necessarily equate to him being prepared to accept less than he thinks he's worth.

Yeah maybe, or he got way more than he's worth so he can afford to take a pay cut and stay where he is. Who knows, but I would love us to sign him up within budget.

I just believe someone else at this level will throw a lot more money at him on a freebie.
