In all three games we have lost we have made a massive mistake at the back which has influenced the result. Cut them out and we would be unbeaten. Losing Wallace has been massive as we have missed his delivery in the final third and that is no criticism of young McCullum. We are a top 10 team that could get into the top 6. Look at where we were a year ago and I for one am happy with the squad and how competitive we are now.

On a side note, but concerning defensive play: I liked the defence that Everton had in the late seventies, I think it was. Update: mid-eighties it was.

League Cup could be highlight of our season. 1 in 12 isn’t top 6. You'd have to say on reflection having lost a game from a winning position in the last 7 minutes that the League Cup was probably a factor. We looked knackered by the end, and they didn't. Hence I'm not in the "always play your best side" camp when it comes to cup games. Yeah, Tuesday was awesome and it would be great to make the quarters of the Carabao Cup. But come the end of the season if we miss out on the play offs by 3 points, nobody will be saying "ah well, at least we beat Everton in the cup". Pretty comical opinion when we have some 37 games left. |

Dont know how old you are Tarbie , but i doubt you`d put out a post like that if you had been to Wembley in 82 or 86 ! |
