but then it’s up to him if he wants extend contract end of season and it’s out of our hands so really not seeing and value in loaning unless your guaranteed he’s signing up beyond next season. Time to loan him was last season that boat has sailed. Ok, so let's say we give him this season to prove himself, and don't loan him out; we still don't know what kind of a season he'll have. If he doesn't step up then we'll have made the correct decision in only giving him a one year extension. Either way there's risk. and he could do amazing on loan and leave on a free 5 months later again what’s the point? You tie him down or you let him go now can’t see there is any middle ground as he now holds all the cards in fairness to him.

Tying him down on a longer deal creates risk too as we've not seen much evidence so far that he'll progress. Letting him go is also an option this window or Jan, as it'll give us a fee; but no sign of any interest which is telling too.

Tbf he doesn’t stand much chance. He trains daily with our strikers and what a top bunch they are. He must see inspiration abound and endless world class finishing.

Reason it took so long to get him to sign was he kept missing the page

Only three goals last season (one of those was v Bournemouth) - he may have some pace but his finishing is hardly prolific

This report suggests that no new contract could be agreed and that we are likely to sell him now having actioned option. the72.co.uk/2024/06/12/qpr-sinclair-armstrong-championship-keen/@adamleventhal - New: #QPR have rejected formal offers for Sinclair Armstrong from UK & overseas. Club today announced trigger of extension, but only 1yr option & talks over longer deal haven't advanced. Sale of 20yo Ireland int striker likely.Shame he can't see the bigger picture and commit to a longer contract, get his head down and try and push on. I imagine he's believing some of the hype there's been about him and impatient to get on with an (imagined?) career with a 'higher' level of team. Wouldn't expect more than £1m - £2m for him at his stage of development.

If he doesn't want to be here, then he can fuck right off. Fans have been very patient and great with him, cheering him on and singing his name every time he's on the pitch. If he's oblivious to that fact, compared to his actual contribution, then good riddance.

Big old half blind disabled Harvey could hit a piñata with a straw more than Sinclair has hit a big bloody net with a ball

this.....
greedy fucker should be grateful to be offered a new contract.
All he has in him is a good half an hour before he starts blowing out of his arse.
Hopefully the club can get a few quid for bertie big bollocks who cleary thinks he is better than what he is.

Him winning QPR & Eire YPOTY has obviously got his agent hard and is using that as their bargaining chip. I'd look at replacements and as soon as one in the door get him gone. Really wanted it to work but he's just not the level required right now.

His ability to head the ball, or lack of it, is a key issue for me, on top of his other limitations. His pace guarantees to upset defences and sometimes unlock them, and his passing/crossing has improved slightly, as has his ability to stay onside, but I'm not sure there's much more he can improve.
The most worrying thing for me is that we go into next season with the same useless strikers that we finished last season with. We absolutely have to find a decent striker. Of course we all dream of the 20 goal a season man, but even 10 would be a nearly 30% improvement on anything we've got.

Yeah, and it’s not just about goals. Look at the team’s performance when Donkey decided to put in a shift instead of playing with ten mem

would prefer to keep him as i've always thought there's a player in there. but if he's refusing to sign a new deal and dragging his feet over it then we should sell him and aim for a high sell on fee.

We wont be able to shift Lyndon for love or money and Frey has trouble moving. But Armstrong is emphatically not the answer to our prayers.

We got our fingers burned with BOS and Manning extending their club orientated contracts...
Manning was at least honest that he would run his contract down where BOS was playing games with pre contracts while discussing signing a new one with us...
If Sinclair is not committed to the club, sell him for what we can get and hopefully some sell on fee...
He is not Eze... My tuppence worth

If, as seems likely, we are not sending Armstrong out on loan, then we will need to sell him.

Why would he stay and commit to a longer contract
Given Marti doesnt like him and the critisism he gets on here i am not surprised.
He just doing what any pro footballer does now looking after number 1.
I hope he does leave and given who he has played with like Dykes,Frey and Kelman i dont blame him.
Good luck young man wherever you go,he may not pull up many trees but it wont be for the lack of trying.
Sorry for the fans that thought he was going to be the black Harland, give the guy a break ffs.

I think that Marti will have his own ideas about his striking set up and last season it rarely involved Sinclair apart from an impact sub. I doubt Armstrong will be here when the window closes. Just hope Marti is!

Highly doubt Marti and Christian would be selling Dykes and Armstrong if they didn't have eyes on replacement(s). Get them out, free up wages, and we're in a better position to replace them too.
