Got no problem with us selling Dykes and Armstrong. We HAVE to replace them though. Very worried we won't. Highly doubt Marti and Christian would be selling Dykes and Armstrong if they didn't have eyes on replacement(s). Get them out, free up wages, and we're in a better position to replace them too. Exactly Stanley - they are clearing the dead wood and those not committed. Free up the funds and then they will do business. Nourry and Marti are very far from stupid; they will know what we need. Far from being worried I am hugely impressed they look like off loading so many players. In the past we have just been left with these below par players stinking up the place and eating the budget. The more we off-load the higher the quality we can bring in

Armstrong is just a unit, at his age he should be scoring more chances than he misses. Just don’t think he got that striker sense. Imo he will end up plying his trade in a different position cos he no striker.

We’ve had better players than him who have disappeared into lower or non-league - Balanta? Herreira?

I get that we have to sell now, while he still has some residual value, but it is a shame that he did not sign an extension IMHO. My reasoning being that in the many games that we are toiling away getting nowhere, his introduction livens things up, rejuvenates the crowd, and worries the opposition. His conversion rate is dreadful, and even in the pre-season games he missed absolute sitters. Interesting that Bristol City are in the same situation with Tommy Conway, their top scorer. He will not sign and they are forced to sell this window. Transfermarket values Armstrong at £1m and Conway at £4m. Similar ages, but one scores goals, and the other one misses them. Get the impression that we are more interested in player exchanges now than we have been for a very long time.It certaninly blurs valuations...

While I get the point about him livening things up when he comes off the bench I would prefer that we have a goalscorer so we do not need him to liven things up. Watched some of the 11-0 pre-season win and even in that he managed to miss at least a hat trick of open goals including putting one over the bar from 4 yards out of a totally open goal with not another player in sight. Plus even after his game time over the last 2 seasons he still does not seem to have worked out the offside rule. Get rid of him now - or convert him to a centre back ... but then he would probably start scoring own goals like they were going out of fashion as well as playing opponents onside and giving away a penalty every other game.

Would be better as an athlete - running, shotput, discus, swimming, pentathlon etc. Even boxing maybe I think he probably just needs to drop to a level where he's getting regular games and he'll start kicking on. I also think his career has been hindered by all the hype and BS newspaper rumours that Man City or whoever else have been keeping tabs on him.

Rumour of just 250k transfer fee. Bristol City have already brought in a striker and they have Wells. Expect they will tie him down to a long-ish contract and punt him out on loan to League One, which is probably what he needs.

Sounds about right tbh. We can all talk about potential, but for me I've seen very little improvement hence why I'd be happy to see him moved on and we can get someone in who actually affects games.

love sincs me but if he won't sign a new deal then it makes sense to get rid. still certain that we haven't seen the best of him and that he'll end up in the prem one day but is what it is. sell on fee should be the priority imo.

He may get lucky and get a club that goes up but I cannot see him making 10+ appearances at that level. He'd be schooled every game he plays.

"What are QPR doing?" So what does that chump propose? That we simply let him run down his contract like Pillock and walk away for sweet FA? So easy running a business from a keyboard in your armchair unencumbered with any actual facts isn't it?

How amusing.. WLS returning to the fold to release stories that the club wish to put out there... it has been a while. Nourry letting Bristol City know that they are not the only team to want Armstrong on the cheap. And when in doubt, good old Stoke City, always there looking to buy a player other clubs have identified as targets. So, Stoke apparently coming in with an eleventh hour bid for Sinclair. 'I am afraid you have been outbid, dreadfully sorry'.

Imagine if we could get anything like 1.7m for Dykes, 500k for Sinclair and with that (and presumably something on top?) get Jimmy's striker in. With a winger (to replace WIllock) and a midfielder (to replace Hayden) we would IMHO be a strong Championship outfit. Being greedy, be ideal to get another striker in as well with Frey as back up and send Kolli on loan to a good League One club (which in an ideal world we would have been able to do for Sinclair's development last season). Can't help thinking those prices may be optimistic. The report on Blackburn's alleged interest in Dykes quotes £1.7m simply as it's his value on TransferMarkt. And the piece I read on Bristol City's interest in Sinclair suggests the price is £250k. You might be right. I wouldn't give a can of 4X for Dykes, but strikers - even mediocre ones - do come at a premium. Re Sinclair, simply on the basis that Noury quite cleverly seems to be rustling up some interest from Stoke. Hopefully they can squeeze a bit more out of the deal.

lots of places reporting that sincs is going for £2.5m. would be more than happy with that tbh! would be very surprised if it's anywhere close to that though.

Wonder if Nourey is wearing a balaclava negotiating that deal if he’s not he should be.
