Our midfield was very poor today. Field, Dozzell, Amos - all useless in creating anything. No need for Wallace or Albert with this midfield.

Great to keep grinding out these wins when not playing well - reminds me of the season we went up under Harry.
The positive is our defence is so much more resilient now - earlier in the season we would have buckled under that pressure but bar a couple of moments we actually dealt with it very well.
Hard to sound frustrated when we have won but I do understand where the Doc is coming from - for 15 mins at the end of the first half we showed we were a far better team than Coventry but we let them totally dominate the second half. Our midfield just didn't get on the ball and Dykes might as well have been in his armchair.
But hey, we won! And if Blackburn don't beat Middlesbrough and we beat Swansea we will be second come Tuesday night - which I still can't quite get my head around...

If we could have just taken control of that midfield a bit in the second half I honestly think we could have won by two or three |

very resilient game from us and one that tbh we didn't deserve to win. not that i'm gunna complain! we've had games we should have won that we ended up losing so it all balances out in the end!

Just think today underlines why we are looking at reinforcements. Don't want to knock Amos or Field but when Warbs thinks we are being completely over-run in midfield and he looks at the bench, what does he see?
Austin yes, but if we can't get hold of the ball Mo Salah isn't even going to score.
You need a bit more quality in midfield. Stef and Ilias will obv make a massive difference, but what about if we could have brought Lawrence on, or someone like Ejaria? If you had that then even I would start wondering if a top 2 challenge might just be in our grasp.
And after that win, wonder if the board might be slightly more inclined to spend?
