With Stef and Ilias I think we would have won that by two or three. Just think today underlines why we are looking at reinforcements. Don't want to knock Amos or Field but when Warbs thinks we are being completely over-run in midfield and he looks at the bench, what does he see? Austin yes, but if we can't get hold of the ball Mo Salah isn't even going to score. You need a bit more quality in midfield. Stef and Ilias will obv make a massive difference, but what about if we could have brought Lawrence on, or someone like Ejaria? If you had that then even I would start wondering if a top 2 challenge might just be in our grasp. And after that win, wonder if the board might be slightly more inclined to spend? Yeah those 2 are quality. Always wanted Ejaria….isn’t he injured though? I think we have to go for it….loans with view to perm or even permanent as we’d get money for them. But I would say that for us 2 up top is not best we need 1 with Chair and Willock behind. Field and Stef in midfield Yeah would agree. Dykes was a passenger today. Maybe if we had started with Amos as well as Dozzell we would have "taken care of the football better" (as Warbs loves to say), but to really dominate the midfield you do as you say need our big guns. Re Ejara - I don't know if he is injured but I read on Twitter (so could be b*llox) he is one an anti-vaxer and has caught it a couple of time and this has allegedly caused a massive bust up in the Reading squad because some other player blamed him for spreading covid. Might be cr*p but he certainly doesn't seem to be picked much at the moment.

Whoever we sign he’ll still play fucking Dykes. Just back, buzzing. Seny‘s got his work cut out - Marshall stopped a rout.

Fantastic away win and 3 points Win game in hand and auto is on Crying out for a midfield General though as seen again today Sign one up Amit Agree Gen. We need a big horrible bastard Shaun Derry type enforcer. I may be alone but I felt Field had a great game and broke things up.

Second half he was great and Coventry were not an easy team to play against when you take into consideration how fast through the middle they play. Dozzell struggled today.

If Hoos needs any more proof we need a home end at LR he only needs to note the tremendous away support. Best since Warnock. Players are clearly impressed and Albert Cheerleader is great value😁

Was a tough game and a tough watch from the away end.
Seeing plaudits fir the defence reading thread but I thought they let Coventry in to often very easily and had it not been for Marshall we would have gone in behind
Can imagine their fans left very pissed off as they did look a decent enough side. Perhaps draw would have been fair but buzzing we nicked it
Ref let them get away with murder dragging Willock down he never seemed to want to book them for it. Dykes is so poor it’s painful watching him.
Must say very impressed with Marshall and I don’t think Dieng walks back into the team
That pitch was fucking huge and think we struggled positionally throughout the game as your covering such huge areas the players are not used too
Superb atmosphere both sides and great to see a new stadium which holds the atmosphere.
Todd Kane still cant cross he’s not missed

Todd Kane still cant cross he’s not missed Agree with every word. We were very lucky to walk away with three points. Stadium is very nice but boy is it steep. Ended up two rows down after our second goal. Dykes is bloody terrible. Every ball to him ends up bouncing off him. No urgency, no pace and no positional awareness. After 60 mins everyone was singing for Charlie to come on. We desperately need a clear out in the striker department and to build again. Lastly, to the merry fella who lost his hat and my boy found for hm, keep it on your head in future. You rssssssssssssss

Seen a few people moaning about Warbs on various platforms today. We certainly haven't been at our best since the turn of the year imo, today we weren't good at all. But as he says the mark of a good team is grinding out results despite poor performances. I don't get the moaning and whining about Warbs. Is he a top class manager? Probably not, or he'd be in the Prem. But the fact remains that since he came in we have improved season on season under a strict budget. You can moan about his tactics and put any negative spin on it you want but that is a fact that cannot be argued with, whether you like the guy or not. His tenure has been a success so far.

I was very vocal and wanted him gone before christmas 2020 but I have to say he has done very very well since then and think a lot of credit card needs to be given to him and his staff.

Likewise, but I would like to ask him what he sees in Dykes and why we persist in playing out through Dickie when opponents shut him down so easily?

Only lost faith in him short spell after Wycombe game December '20, and would have understood if board had sacked hin then. But since then we've practically gone from strength to strength, and am well happy we've kept faith in him. Long may it continue.
