Just been told by a mate Hoos was on Paul Finney's podcast. He sent me a little summary of what he said: Things he says basically Ferdinand and Ramsay running the show, Lee Hoos is the money man. He's been told to save every penny, we are literally fucked, we can't even have half time entertainment cos we need to save the pitch we can't afford. New stadium happening no time soon. If new stadium will mean moving out the Borough. We are on the edge of ffp which is why we keep loaning out the youngsters to get a percentage if thier wage and we will be looking to sell chair willock field etc. They said to him the club is stagnant, not going anywhere and he said spend per head is up so we're moving forward lol. Just thought I'd share. If anyone has any more to add to that feel free. Looks pretty bleak. So all the bullshit about LC was exactly that as we thought. Time for a programme of limited improvements to LR to be drawn up with a timetable. Can you imagine the place in another ten years if they just leave it? Why not try to buy a few feet of the gardens that back on to Ellerslie? They don’t strike me as budding Monty Dons round there so surely a decent offer secures, then we could move and have a piss. Lots could be done if they thought about it and seriously invited ideas.

Look we skint, what players we have will go and be replaced by traffic bollards who be as fast and old and cheap. With no investment on players of quality we are at best div 1.

don't think there is anything in those comments that should come as a surprise. the club have been pretty open for years they have no money, some just choose not to believe it

the club have been pretty open for years they have no money Then there's very little point in owning a football club at this level. Because you're going to loose money.
I think they're winding it all down. There have been rumours that Reilly is looking to up his stake, you have to ask yourself why would anyone bother to buy into Holdings in the first place (especially if Hoos' doom and gloom narrative is true) if they weren't interested in expansion.

At one point he just laughed at suggestion to increase crowd attendance and engagement. He then followed up with a typically condescending answer. He then tried to justify what Les said to Austin about retirement. Ok, Les didn’t say “are you going to retire now” but this was implied by Les talking about Charlie’s knee.

Jumped around the interview and the questioners drove me fucking nuts tbh. Open a hour early? The pies? Half time activity? Programmes can only be brought with cash? Hoos was very patient with them.

Interview is only as good as the questions asked and Finney did not go after him about anything. Hoos will continie to number crunch us all the way to relegation at some point.

This obsession with trivia that some of these fans ask - especially when so many of the fundamentals are fucked - is really quite something. Regarding engagement/ marketing - work in marketing myself so naturally see value in it. But the best marketing in the world is not going to sell a shit product, which is what we are currently. If/when we have a team that at least appears to try and gets the odd point, it certainly needs pushing. Don't think the West London thing flies - its a very pedantic point. Brentford's ground (wherever they might have originated from) is more or less west London and the fact remains we have three much better teams in the same borough. Given that suspect marketing engagement would need to be hyper local (Shepherds Bush, White City, maybe Acton and out as far as Perivale and Harrow), along the lines of "Support QPR - your local team". But it needs to be done with an introductory offer. I also don't get why the club stopped giving free tickets to schools for games they know there will be capacity.

Re your second point, I hope you are right. But given my view on FFP, just confirmed by Hoos - which I know you don't accept - any new owner will have exactly the same spending restrictions. So it is simply a question of whether their greater competence/ appointing the right people can spend the same very limited budget more effectively.

I think this will stop us getting in the best manager for the job, as they'll want almost a yes man. Pretty much linked to Warbs going too, as he clearly had a differing view to Les & so Warbs was sent packing. I can't see a Wilder type figure (as a random example) coming here as they are too strong a personality for this set up.

I'm in a minority here, but I don't have a problem with Hoos. I think he runs the non football side of the business well enough, and I don't think he's the problem. Which is the DoF.

He's the CEO of an abjectly failing football club. Of course he's part of the problem!

Some will say he’s done a great job We can’t judge really, as we simply don’t know what his remit is. We can only judge by overall picture of what we perceive. Well he’s CEO, so other than write the cheques, he’s got to be decision maker in everything. Him and Les would be driving the strategy. Owners sign off on it and pay for it.
